VRS instrument cluster on a 1.9tdi comfort...

Featured Replies

Evening all, just wondering if this is possible?

I know Devonutopia and Ninja_alex both have VRS like estates?

Did you switch the instrument cluster over to these?

Much appraciated,

Pete

Yes, it can be done.

you will need the 4 digit SKC from both instrument clusters, then its just a matter of coding and repairing your keys with the immo in the new cluster. Unless the replacement cluster is new, you will be stuck with the mileage of the used cluster, however there are mileage corrections companys who maybe able to sort this.

Do you know of anyone who has actually done it? 100% successfully? I spent something like £500 trying to put a replacement cluster in my vRS until SUK finally took pity on me and got someone in from Europe to do it.

Cluster swaps are pretty straight forward with the right tools. I haven't done any Fabias but a couple of Golfs and A3s with no problem.

As long as you have the codes its a piece of cake,

Mileage stays in the dash though so bear that in mind if your looking at a used one.
