Recommended Posts

Hi folks quick question got a 1.9 tdi Octy with 31,000 miles fssh 2005 elegance.Driving it back from a weekend away today.Tried to overtake was doing about 42 mph was in 4th gear tried to change up to 5th gear went for the gear change give it some acceleration and got a bad judder and had to change back down to 4th gear.other than this the car drives like a dream not noticed any judder on take off from the lights.

Any Ideas or thoughts please.

Why are you changing up to 5th from 4th to overtake at 42mph? Overtaking generally means pretty much 100% throttle which at the 1400RPM you'd have been doing at the time isn't really going to work. You needed to be in third.
