Got my vRS! :-)

Featured Replies

Finally got my vRS yesterday, after cancelling with a dealer who didn't know what he was doing... Luckily there are some good dealers out there! :) I'd like to say a big thank you to Matt Evans and Ade Adams @ Autosales, fantastic service!

First impressions: Wow! Need I say anymore? It certainly shifts, I haven't even put my foot down fully yet, taking it gently for the first 1k miles.

Had a slight mishap on the way home, the speed sensor decieded that it had had enough, (don't think it liked going over 160mph! Only joking  ) Shame this happened 10 miles from home, good excuse to drive back up the M6 toll!

Luckily a quick call to Autosales and Ade had the problem sorted within 30 mins!

One slight thing I don't like, is when you open the boot rain drips off into the boot! Anyone got a cure for this?

Phew, at last !

Worth waiting for wasn't it ? As to the rain in the boot problem, this has been discussed many times before. General solution seems to be lift half way and let water drain off slowly before opening fully. Or you could always not open it in the rain :D

Forget the boot on your Octy - open the DOOR in a Fabia when it's raining, and you're in for a soaking ;)

Glad you got your car sorted in the end. I know from waiting for mine that it can be very frustrating!

Well, enjoy...

The solution to the leaky boot? Silicon seal along the base of the rear window - helps an awful lot! :D

Is that the same Ade who posts on here as adaadams?

Enjoy matey....

good to hear you got it sorted.

Joel

At long last.... Enjoy the ride!

Will you be changing your signature now? :)

Swissol your hatch window. Water runs off as soon as the car is moving :)

Enjoy the car

Definetly worth the wait! Just need to get a 1k miles on the clock for the fun to begin!

It wasn't raining when i opened the boot but it was just were the water had settled on the glass.

yes, its aadams! He's a good bloke certainly know's his stuff.

Where can I get the swissol from?

Just waiting for DVLA to sort out my VRS number plate now!

If you contact Mark who goes by the name of waxwizard on the forum, he can sort you out. Swissol wax and car caring products are rather pricey, but they last very well and over a period of time, end up being no more expensive than traditional stuff you find in Halfords. :)

don't mind paying for good stuff bought some NXT wax just need to hide it from my dad/brother tis too good to use on a bora!

Just to give you an idea...

My pot of Swissol wax is over 6 months old, and i've used less than a quarter.

The car is waxed on average 2 times per month, and i've done a couple of other cars too. :)

Is the swissol wax good? I may get some of that after the NXT wax has been used up. Did you get your car valeted by that guy (

Glad you're enjoying the car... Thanks for the kind comments, ade's head is now wedged under the wheel arch of a fabia....

boyced,

Would you mind putting some info in the reviews section with regard to the dealers you've used. It may be of help to others.

Ta.

Jon

PS Only when you've finished playing with your new "toy" of course :D

Welcome to the 'club' Boyced!! (finally)

You have to show me this one time as I can't for the like imagine what position you mean. Can you take a picture of your crafty work?

Q, it's along the bottom of the rear screen. Have a look, therte is a gap between the glass and the hatch, so the water runs down the screen and collects in the channel. Open the bot and it runs out of the channel

My water seems to be coming from the point where the spoiler enters the boot lid though... This silicon stuff goes on the outside of the car? Isn't that a messy business?

Trade it in for an Estate - although it didn't cure the problem for Jon. (But that is another story...) Glad you like the car. :D
