Unmarked vRS - M6 Manchester

Featured Replies

Behave youselves around the Manchester area!

Spotted on the M6 - Unmarked police vRS Mk2. Black. Reg: LS07---.

Pulled a car at the M6 / M62 split, today.:(

And what did you say to him? I hope you were polite!

If the very kind police officer had stopped me, then of course I would have been very polite. Probably thanking him for taking the time and effort in stopping me and pointing out the errors of my ways and how best I could be more considerate and helpful to other road users.

Nice script! I shall be word perfect on it the next time I have the privilege of being addressed by one of our revered custodians of the law!

one of the silver North Wales VRS unmarked cars passed me the other day and the copper nodded to me! not sure if he thought I was the race blue unmarked they have or just because I was a fellow vrs driver

We're all very well behaved in this neck of the woods, officer. He must have been there to catch people passing through :D

Did it have a Brisky sticker?

Pretty sure I read that particular one had its back window smashed in, so the sticker is no more!

its not there for speeders its from the tvcu (x cars to you and me) its for catchng thieves. the person stopped might have been of interest.

Saw an unmarked silver VRS hatch pull someone around J20 M1 yesterday on the way back from GTI International.

Interesting. As it sounds like you might know, are they still running that from Stretford?

Wardy, good call but no longer at Stretford

In my first black mk1 Jabba'd vRS, I gave it some beans off a roundabout on the A66. I was up to 80 Leptons and looked in my rear view mirror to see a marked Cumbria Police vRS join the A66 and accelerate up to me.

I slowed, he passed me, looked over, wagged his finger and then off he went.

Fresh trouser time then!

Thought is was Eccles now

Can't mistake an Irish unmarked anyway !!

[1] Three GIGANTIC Ariels on the roof. They still use a primitive radio sytem

[2] Every state vehicle is a "D" reg (for Dublin) with a longer than normal number ... e.g. 08 D 12345

[3] Theres more extras on a Lada than a Garda car. Hubcaps don't come as standard :)

[4] Strobe lights on the front corners of the bumpers

[5] In Need Of A Wash

A few months ago i was approaching a checkpoint (not speed) . Drove up to the cop and rolled my window down. He never even asked me my name and said " Is it the petrol or the diesel one?" I said it was petrol the fast one;). He then said "I'm envious" while smiling and said "ok go ahead":D

I live in north wales too, the unmarked vrs are nearly as dangerous as the unmarked merc vito vans with a 200bhp 3.0 v6 cdi in them. The holiday makers are going to be sitting ducks with them!

Ive been told by someone in the force that the unmarked vrs's are diesel not tfsi.

Come to birmingham ,nearly all unmarked cars are vrs's or superbs, last time i was in the aston workshops there were three cars being re maped in the workshop

They also use black 5dr Focus ST round the midlands area.

Around Settle in North Yorkshire, I have seen a Golf Gti with tinted windows, from the back you could never tell (cant see the little blue flashing lights on the parcel) until you overtake it, too late then. :-(

Saw a battered maroon mondeo on 55 plates with one 1 wheel trim missing the other weekend in Flint, lights a flashing and doing a speedy U-turn.

As for tourists getting clobbered! I dont really see many marked cars on the A55 and if there are unmarked ones then I've been very lucky so far (touch wood:D), I was following a vito today and that was shifting!

There is a silver vRS hatch and orange Focus ST that do the rounds on the A3 near Guildford.

Cheshire have a silver 330d BMW which I've seen a couple of times on the M6 near Knutsford.

My favourite unmarked encounter was the blue Focus ST I saw sitting in the car park of the Creg-ny-Baa Inn on the Isle of Man. Best feeling in the world was knowing that he's watching you and then tanking down the straight into Douglas at 100mph+ and him not being remotely interested!

Obviously (in case he's reading) I kept both wheels firmly on the deck and slowed to an appropriate speed as I entered the town... ;)
