@2000rpm the 5.0v10 produces 743 newton metres!!!!!!!!!!!!

You also have to be a specailly trained master tech to work on one at a VW garage with not all dealers being able to sell or service them.

Awesome car, as is the A8. We get a few around these parts from VAG HQ.

Dont they fit the same V10 in the Toureg too?

Seen a few in town, but they do look very......staid?

Tad rich coming from a Superb owner ;) but I know what you mean :D

must admit it didn't mention a superb, must e-mail them to update the meaning. and sorry andy, a bit slow there ;)

Phaeton is a stunning car, i went in one at millbrook and he took it round the small winding track and had the back end out on every corner. The sheer weight of the car is irrelevant compared to how the engine makes it move. After about 5 laps of a go-kart circuit (i kid you not!) he took it to the oval and straight onto the 5th lane and hit 155 and cruised around at that. You could have a normal conversation as the road noise was non-existant. The best thing about it all was it was only the 3.2 V6!!!!! The dash had a full computer on it, seats are as comfortable as sofas, and i have never felt so comfortable and safe doing 155mph.

Been in the 5.0 V10 diesel and that thing shifts!!! We (me dad and bro) went on it on a custom build 4x4 and it romped everything there, as soon as we got the car on the flat the driver floored the throttle and it took off and roared like a supercharged engine.

The problem why they don't sell ist the name VW. When it was the new A8 or even S-class, it was a big hit.

Thank you grandad, its a long time since anyone refered to me as "Yoof".

However, back on topic...I would happily swap my Superb and a couple of coins for a nearly new Phaeton...even if the styling isnt quite up the class of the S-Class or even 7 series that its aimed at.
