Suspension upgrade on ALH TDI

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have tried to read as much as I could about improving the stability of the Octavia 1. Most of the treads posted here are about vRS models.

I've got a ALH TDI Octavia 1 with Bilstein B8 shocks, Eibach Pro Springs and some 17 inch OZ Ultraleggera. The current setup is way better then the stock one, but I want to make it even better and planning to do some upgrades.

First of all I would like to know what are the differences betwen vRS and ALH front and rear suspension

I have in plan to perform the following upgrades:

Eibach sport springs

Powerflex or audi tt bushes -> don't know which are better

R32 FARB -> don't know if it will fit on my car ???

Eibach Rear ARB

R32 rack -> will it work on a tdi?

Also in order to be able to perform a brake upgrade, will I be able to mount a pair of Audi TT Roadster wheel bearing housing and keep my actual wheel hub with rotor?

Kind Regards,

Andrei

I don't think you can fit the R32 FARB, because the ARB pickups on the suspension are different on the vRS and hot Golfs from on the "normal versions".

I'm not sure about using TT parts, but you do need to change the hub carriers to fit DS3 calipers and 312mm discs yes.

Thank Ken for your answer.

I think I will stick then with Eibach front and rear ARB and Powerflex bushes.

About the R32 rack, does anyone knows if can be mounted on tdi?

Cheers,

Andrei

The rack mounts are the same throughout the range; I'm not sure about the steering arms on the hub carriers.
