Felicia 1.3 mpi Horn and rad fan probs

Featured Replies

Anybody come across this problem, no horn and no rad fan, checked all fuses with multimeter and lantern battery they are ok, pulled out and swapped around the 3 relays which are common still no horn etc.

Checked out horn electrical socket and wire, cleaned wiring and sockets near alternator/radiator one of which although covered in black oil was also a little bit corroded

at the electrical connector still no joy....the joys of Felicia ownership !! always a challenge !!

Thanks Silvafelicia.

PS its a 1996 1.3 mpi model, and does the horn and rad fan have a relay ?, have crossed the terminals on rad fan

thermostat normally this would set the rad fan running but not at the moment.

Checked over again rad fan is ok and spinning when rad thermostat crossed, horn now

the culprit.....note the horn works when wired up direct to battery.....

Thanks Silvafelicia

Probably due to a lot of rainwater through the windshield sealing, I have some problems with a Skoda Felicia 1,3.

The horn is silent (and the headlight signal i not working). I have also checked the actual horn, which is working. The fuse 17 is supplied with 12V, and I have also short-circuited all standard relays to eliminat a defective relay. I am not certain if or which relay that is engaged for the horn (possible R6...).

So, I would also need the electrical wiring diagram for the car. Or at least the relevant parts of it. I have seen the diagram of a polish (!) Felicia Service Manual, but the wiring diagram in it was unsufficient.

Thanks for your supplied links on this problem, however with some investigative work

I have discovered and cured problem.

The wires leading to the connector to the horn were causing problem, say 10 to 15 mm

from connector the brown wire had a visible bulge in the plastic sleeve it just snapped in half when handled.

The bulge in the wire was found to be the copper wire severely corroded, in fact it was more like green powder than actual wire, simple repair to wiring has the horn rooting

and tooting again !!!:)
