At the moment there are specials on Snooper radar and gps systems and we will shortly be adding more --- go on have a look for yourself.

"In Keeping with Alpha,BMW,MERCS and other quality marques some Skoda models are fitted with special windscreens which may block the GPS antenna operation."

This is taken from that page, and is this true, as it would be good for me to know, as am about to start building a carPC with GPS capabilities, for the positioning of the receiver

do you know if I would need the additional cable for a Fabia vRS.

I thought it was only the cars with heated front screens that blocked GPS signals. Do any of the Fabias have this type of screen ? My vRS does not.

If you have a heated screen you can take GPS cable to the back of the car and place the receiver on the rear parcel shelf.I think the supplied lead is long enough to do this - would have to check though.(snooper SR6 )

That seems to be a very competitive price on the Snooper S4! :)

GPS signal is blocked by heated screens (ones with the tiny filaments) and heat refelctive screens.

I have a Snooper S6R and pick up the GPS signal fine.

What does the S6 bring to the party that the S4 can't. The S4 kinda looks neat but the S6 seems to offer more information right there for you to see, but can it be summed up what is better about the S6? or is that basically it.

Hmm now i'm confused, that is the difference between the S6 neo and S6-R neo. Does it just come with the optional extra S100 RLD as a package?

I wonder if many people have these, if you do please let me know what you think and what does plod think about these too !

Anyone fitted an S6 to a Fabia?

With the S4 the whole unit has to be mounted on the top of the dash to receive the GPS signals. I also have a Garmin Streetpilot 2610 Sat Nav to fit on the dash.

The S6R GPS receiver is very small is at one end of the dash , the laser detector is mounted at the other end. The control unit is mounted in the tray just forward of the gear stick. This makes the unit nearly invisible from outside the car. So I can leave it in place. My cig lighter is always on ( even when the key is out ) so I put in a switch between it and a multi socket unit to run the S6 , Sat Nav etc.The stuff on the dash matches the dash colour and is not obvious. Its set up to give several loud beeps then it reduces to a soft beep - so I do not need to look at the screen at all.

Is it hard to lay all the wires and hide them well? and have you put the radar detector bit under the bonnet and if so was that difficult to get the wires through. I'm just asking as i'm not that practical but willing to give it a go. I quite like the look of the plus version which has the blue background.

There are nice gaps near the door frame / dash edge - use a soft piece of thin material to push the wires in - wires are thin ( on drivers side you can push them down the edge of the fuse box cover ) theres some plasic trim in the footwell you can push the wires behind. Its then under the carpet to reach the centre console.( wires about the same colour as carpet so the short lengths that are not hidden are just about invisible  )

PS Must learn to spell !
