Hi Phil + Welcome!

Car looks great - only thing I would say is that a bit of your number plate has fallen off and landed behind your car ;)

Dave

Looks good Sir, even in the wet :D

If you can't sort out any space, send the piccies to manny. His gallery doesn't feature an estate yet...

I know, i couldn't delete them!

Yes it is looking good.

Phil as Dave has mentioned, once it stops raining and you have your pics email them to me at [email protected] and I will add them to the briskoda gallery which I look after. The only estate I have pics of at the mo are of a Corrida Red one in a dealer showroom.

Oi, twas me who suggested such action :p Although Dave and I share the same taste in cars, thats where it ends ;)

Q.

And a fine taste in cars it is too :D

Manny - I see there's a nice gap in the Fabia gallery for mine.. :D My piccies are on my site at the moment, but if you want to help yourself to the 3 or 4 images there, for your gallery, please go ahead.

Hopefully i will take some more detailed ones at the weekend, after it has been washed, and i'll send them over.

Is the size of the attached one ok?

Looks nice

Was a tough choice for me Black or Silver on my estate, chose black in the end and just about every weekend it has rained on me when I clean it

Must get some decent pic's of mine to manny

Phil, that size is fine.

Hey man! that looks really nice! what is the downside to chnage the alloys to 17"?

con grats!!! ive just got 2 more weeks till mine is built.

Phil

Welcome to Briskoda! I bet you cant wait til your vRS is run in!

Day Tripper,

From what I can gather the downside to fitting 17's is considerable. You invalidate your warranty!

Not sure about the wheels, i'll be keeping the 16's for more stealth effect and cheaper replacement tyres:D. Spare is also a steel one. According to the FAQ the wheels are the same as some earlier models, perhaps they are just getting rid of some old parts?

Phil.

The Octavia RS sedan in many countries is fitted with 16" wheels as standard 17" are a factory option. When Skoda UK started importing the Octavia Sedan into this country the standad spec was for 17" wheels. Initially the UK imported I believe about 100 Red Octavia sedans with 16" wheels before the 17" ruling for UK import.

Alloy spares where initialy standard as the spare however I have seen in later brocures that steel spare wheels are specified.

The Octavia RS combi is only available with 16" wheels and cannot according to Skoda be fitted with 17" wheels due to body flex in teh Estate. UK dealers recieved a letter that they cannot fit 17" wheels as an after fit and they will not honour resultant warrenty claims.

Does the spare wheel for the octavia come as an alloy or steel?

My 2002 4X4 has a steel spare. grumpy.gif

My RS (2003) has an alloy spare. I suggest anyone buying a new one checks this, and makes sure they tell the dealer they want an alloy. Its in the spec, so make sure you get it.

Mine came with a 15 inch steel spare , 2001 on a Y. (upgraded to an alloy 17 inch now , 15 inch steelie now takes up space in my shed , if anyone wants it they can have it 4 nowt ,comes complete with a new unused michelin!!..lol)

Mine , October 2002 came with a steel spare , thought I should have had an alloy one :(

Mellowyellow,

My 2001 RS has a 17" alloy spare .

The Aug 2002 brochure shows the RS having

I quote how its typed in the spec:-

Alloy wheels 17" ,SPIDER (full size steel spare)

In the September 2002 brochure:-

"Alloy wheels 17" ,SPIDER (full size steel spare)"

What Size steel spare did you get?

John

17" steel spare , looks like they got it right then unfortunately :(

Would have replied earlier , but had trouble accessing the site .

yes I had trouble also - was going to add a reply to the meal thread in meets but that seems to have vanished :(

I'm pretty sure my Sep '01 vRS has a 17" alloy spare too.
