Featured Replies

By 40mm!

Finally got round to doing it last week in the baking sunshine. . Lowered by 40mm. Also whilst it was in bits on the ramp, I put new shocks on and a complete new exhaust. Oh yeah and some new original Felicia 14" alloys.

What d'ya all think?

Looks nice. Those wheels actually look better than the original ones IMO!

Only problem is that it makes me want a Fun even more!!!

Phil

That does look pretty damned good!!!!

Thanks!

I will be keeping the original wheels and springs so it will be a fairly simple job to restore it back to its original condition.

Now...Does anyone know a good and cheap re-sprayer?? :D

Very Nice.

Very nice

Looks very nice but it does need bigger wheels for me TBH.

Thanks!

I hope you are not going to change the colour. Ive seen a couple that have had a colour change, and look crap. Funs were made yellow, and should stay yellow. JMHO

I totally agree. It will be staying yellow, but the whole car will be the same shade of yellow.

That may happen if I find a set I like. I got those because they were brand new and a real bargain.

That's nice :D

I still want one, and once I find a tidy one I will buy it!

I am thinking about getting a Fun in a couple of months time, can't wait tbh, I'm after something a bit different but still want four seats so it is perfect really.

Looks good lowered, did you use golf springs on the back to do it?

Callum.

Yes I did use golf springs on the back...courtesy of Bass-Alex. The backs were really easy to do as well, took me just over 2 hours including changing the dampers. The only issue I had is when I let the jack down, the car was too low to get it out!

I think golf springs are the cheapest way of lowering....but maybe not the best :-)

ok mate, so are they just standard golf springs? or lowereing springs meant for a golf?

Callum.

Standard Mk4 Golf GTi.

There is a nice fun on ebay at the moment in Whitley Bay

there standard golf springs u say??? what did u use 4 the front? did u use the golf shocks as well on the rear???

Good improvement, but I'm just thinking if it would be even better with your new wheels in black :rubchin: :D

As far as I know, the fronts were just Felicia lowering springs, I bought them from Bassy-Alex, they were the springs from his lowered fun.

The shocks are standard, which you can use if only lowering 40mm.

Thanks! Give me a chance lol! I thought I would see how they looked in silver first. Im happy with them for the moment, but no doubt it will change.

I did recently refurbish some old Mk1 Octavia vRS wheels with some old paint I had and I still got some left. The only problem is, I have no idea what the colour is. All I can remember it was a VW code.

I took the lowered fun home this weekend, 50 mile commute down the A1. Got lots of looks, but boy oh boy its a hard ride! My back feels like its been on some sort of medieval torture machine!! It does handle alot better though.

So Im now planning to move to a country with smooth roads and no speed humps! :)

Or sell it to me? ;)

LOL, Well driving it back to work this morning, I'm beginning to get used to it but everything has its price. Im always open to offers! I have kept the OE wheels and springs so it can be changed back to its original condition.
