Idle Problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My Octy 1 has recently developed an idle problem.... When you start the car the engine managment light stays on and the revs dip on idle to about 750 and then go back and forth between 750 and 1000 but the engine never stalls. Ive had the fault diagoned as a faulty temp sensor which i have changed but the problem still continues. The engine looks like its going to rattle itself off the mounts, as a result im now wondering whether its my timing belt??

Any help would be greatly appriciated as im stumped!

Thanks

It might be a throttle body clean and reset, but really, you need to read this.

Which engine? I'm wondering if it's a problem with the secondary air pump (petrol turbos only).

i had the same problem with mine last week. it was the pipe had come off the fuel pressure reg where it connects under the manifold maybe worth a try

Shouldve mentioned its a 2.0 8v, turns out the diagonostics is showing a missfire, still cant source the problem.

Coilpack and/or plug starting to go down then? Probably on cylinder 2 or 3.
