One for me and one for my mate with the 996 GT3, awesome piece of kit for the money and anyone that is after a new jack for under £85 then it's a bargain........

Costco still have the 36 Microfibres in stock but I have plenty of those but I did invest in a Eurow Waffle Weave Drying Towel x 2 pack for under £10, another bargain..........:D

If anyone is interested in a Halfords 2 Tonne Trolley Jack, boxed then let me know as it's surplus to requirements and I can bring it along to the Gaydon meet........

Looks well made and American I guess. Aluminium? are you sure didn't think that aluminium is the material to use as a jack.

how do i get membership as i dont have a buisness????

how much you looking for for the halfrauds jack?

You underestimate the power of the Ally :D, it'll be fine for this, granted not as strong as steel but plenty beefy for 2t and at a density of 2.3g/cm^3 and mild steel at 7.75g/cm^3 its about 1/3 of the weight

i think most people think the same when aluminium is mentioned, coke can and we all know how easy its to crush one of them over their predecessor.

As smstext and Bigw2069 has said Alu is fine and this thing is pretty strong, it's used by many DW member's and for the money it's a bargain.......

Will PM you.......

I guess your right about Aluminium then as I can't see anyone making a 2 ton jack thats not tested beyond it's recommended lift weight unless it comes from a tinpot country. I notice it has a lift of 480mm, thats great. I'm beginning to want one now as me old one is kaput.

Please tell me Baker which country it's made in.

We have one of these. Super light and a bargain! :D

I honestly didn't pay attention to where it's made mate, the box is at home at the moment but I can have a look tonight?

3rd pic looks like "Made in China"

But if you're looking on the box, please tell us which Alu alloy its made from. I don't care how much it carries it looks like a work of art :o

Very last page bottom left corner, looks like its made in the US  and meets ASME/ANSI standards (It doesnt say which ones though :P)

For what its worth its CE marked too - bottom left corner of the box

seen some reviews on these jacks in america - they use them for lifting their F150 trucks and stuff; so they are pretty damn strong... Funny enough, they mentioned costco as well...

You buy a nice new jack, which imo looks the part for the money.

Then everyone picks holes in it's build quality, strength etc.

Why on earth would a company make a alloy car jack that couldn't jack a cars weight.

You then have too go and check where it's from just because of posting it up on here.

It all makes me chuckle thats all:rofl::rofl::rofl:

i have one of these , its fine , very low and quick lift as well , was more than £85 tho

Like I said, in the US they use thes exact jacks (from Costco) to lift the Ford F150 Pickup (which is massive american truck) so they must be very sturdy.

If I hadn't just bought a cheap non alloy version of the same for £28 I'd definitely have one...

The box states it's made by Arcan in China and distibuted by Costco in the UK, bear in mind that Costco is an American company........

Not at all, its a very nice looking piece of kit :) I expect to see a jack detail at some point

@ smstext....if you do purchase Baker's old Jack will you be using it at Gaydon meet to take off the wheels and polish the calipers etc.....lol

Well, everyone seems to agree that this jack is a worthy buy then so im off to Costco when I can.

Incidentally Aluminium means 100% aluminium. It does not say Alloy on the box, Alloy being a mixture of at least 2 metals.

I'd be willing to bet my testie satchel that its an Aluminium Alloy, the strength of pure aluminium is rather poor. The name 'Aluminium' has been adopted for a huge batch of aluminium alloys. most of even the "aircraft grade" aluminium stuff contains manganese and magnesium at a minimum.
