AP Coilovers - With Pics (Because i know you wanna see!)

Featured Replies

Bought a set of these AP coilovers from Awesome the other day, and wound them right down. Adjusters are still on the back, but might need to come out to level it off. Or i could be sensible and wind the front up. . . . . .Or not! :P

Can i now join the lowest Fabias on Briskoda? :D

Appologies for the dirty car!

Looking gooooooooooood!

Hows the ride?

Adjusters out rear and you'll be rolling as low as me. :)

Saw your car last Thursday in Falkirk actually.

Looks good.

I'd actually watch if your going to run 16's that low.

After all the warnings and me not believing, i cracked my sump last week. DOH!

Never good.

As you can imagine, quite a stiff ride, meant to be 30% stiffer i think. The tyres only just scuff the arch if i hit a bump when doing 50+mph, but it can be raised about 100mm if i need to.

Corners like its on rails.

Smoother when pulling away, changing gear and stopping. (Front end doesn't slump down under braking, and rear doesn't slump when pulling away)

Not to mention the improved looks.

Cheers, I did see a few Fabias but didn't recognise anyone. Mind you i don't have a clue what anyone on here actually looks like. lol

Im running 17's the now, might go back to standards for winter time, but will jack it right up for that.

I will listen to your warning! defo dont want to be buying a new sump.

Ive heard a few scuffs from the under tray allready :(

Looks good, but you only have to look at that rear pic, where you can see the speedbump in front of the car....

Good luck protecting your sump

Steve

Looks good, rear adjusters need to come out and level it off :D

Three Fabia's have been shown recently with "lowered suspension", I would like to congratulate you on actually being low :)

I hope thats not mine

Any how looks great love the wheels too

Looks good, but you may find the front is to low, especially if you value your sump/engine.

Be very wary of the "The tyres only just scuff the arch if i hit a bump when doing 50+mph". at that speed that small scuff can cause major tyre damage. My rear tyre is showing signs of significant wear on the edge, from "scuffing the arch" when one of my shocks failed. Another thing to consider is the stress that these small "scuffs" place onto the wheel bearings as the whole structure tries to momentarily "twist" at the point of contact. The scuffing will be far worse with a full tank of fuel and passengers/shopping etc.

Cheers guys.

Might have to wind it up, just a bit.

Thing is, my mum borrows the car from time to time, and im scared she will end up de-sumping it! We've got speedbumps all round our streets!

I have seen a couple of "lowered" Fabias on here as well. They are low, but its hard to achive this look with springs alone. They are probably more sensible than me too :P

I'll be getting a set of AP's soon too!

fair bit lower than mine on the front, mines about 3/4 inch higher.

Ive took the winders out at the back as it just sits too high with them in.

I dont have that big black thing on the fronts of mine, should I be worried?

 wow , that is low

But does look good

Shame you need a sump really eh ;)

Looking good :thumbup

If you ain't rubbin'....

I just like low cars!

I love low cars too (as long as they move :D), just did not have enough dough for coils at that point, but I think 50mm was not too bad! :P

Also to all you that have dropped I believe 40mm+, did you have to move any other parts on your car? I was going to do mine myself but could not be bothered and took it to JKM. They had to move my exhaust up apparently as it was catching on the RARB or something??? Never really read about all the extra work that goes into making a car look the way it should?

Looks good, but if I did put my KWs that low my tyre would literally be sat right on the arch. So for me, spacers to clear brakes takes precedance over "stance". :D

So, Your in Scotland too?

You must all have some smooth roads up there... ;)

I will be on the lookout for oil slicks along New Halls Road  That sump is VERY low.

I would be worried about any tyre scrubbing. Might need to put your front wings through the English Rolling Wheel to flare them out a bit

Looks good, but there are a couple of safety issues at work there :D

Looks really good, nice and low!! :)

Shall we run a sweepstake on when the sump will crack?

This weekend?

Is that the road you live on? With a speed bump! HA Your a braver man than me! (with a nicer looking car) ;)

wait till you find a bit of road that slopes away each side where your wheels are leaving a hump under the car :)

There's one on the route to work, i know my way around every little bump now :) lol

looks good but too low imo just raise them up slightly

im gona say raise the front... it is too low :)

you lose the fun of the car
