Heater intake (pollen) filter

Featured Replies

Has anyone changed one? If so, a pointer as to just where it is would be most useful.

Firstly, I haven't, however I have come across this VWvortex Forums: DIY - Replacing the dust pollen filter (also know as the cabin filter) that might be of help.

I have also come across this comment (Honest John's Agony column) that might serve as a warning about fitment:

Pollen quirk

My Seat Leon Cupra will be four years old in April. I have been delighted with the car, which is a joy to drive, but have recently noticed dampness in the passenger footwell. I wonder, however, whether it might not be caused by a misaligned pollen filter.

On right-hand-drive cars, the pollen filter's waterproof cover is badly designed and difficult to put on straight. The same thing can happen to Audi A3s, VW Polos/Golfs, Skoda Octavias and Seat Ibizas/Toledos.

Hope these are of some use.

Pollen filter is inside...

Remove gently the styropor cover on the top of the passenger footwell...

You will see black plastic frame on the ceiling of the footwell....

Slide the black locks outwards and remove the filter housing

Thanks very much, Irfan, very useful. As for Salut's information, well, I'm not looking to change the filter in a mark IV Jetta :-)
