DS 2500 question

What's the expected mileage on DS 2500 pads for normal usage (no circuit)? Did anyone get to change them yet ?

Going for 10K on mine now...

15k on mine with drilled and grooved (increases wear slighlty) includes two track days and of course plenty of A road action.

I don't know the life expectancy to be honest, not long on a competion car. TaviaRS is I think the best guess to ask next.

10 k for me with grooved discs, 3 track days and half a lap of Silverston

Plenty of meat left on them as well!

Steve

10k+ miles on mine with grooved discs.......plenty of "meat" on the pads left.

25,000 on mine; 1 ring trip, 3 trackdays and the handling day. Rears are completely FUBAR, fronts will do about another 10k.

Jon,

Sounds like fair wear, I'd check your handbrake matey, sounds like it might of been overused or partial to sticking ;)

25K with 10K to go on one set of pads  thats good my peugeot needed new pads after 24K but then I guess that's cheap peugeot parts for you!

I still have the original sets (front and rear) on my Octy RS. Its now 2 years old, and has 41k miles on the clock. I was expecting the garage to tell me they had tpo change them at the last service, but they said they were fine. Most of my milage is on good roads, so I am not hard on the brakes.

keeping an ear out for the metal on metal sounds just in case......

and the cheapest place to get them from is?...........i NEED new front asap

Demon Tweeks..

10% off to brisky members.

cheers ,he got mail ;)

Preety good, especially knowing that i can purchase the fronts for about 75E and the rears for about 30E !

If you can get DS2500 for that price I'll have some as well.

When I got via a Group Buy they cost

My oem brake pads are still the original ones that were on the car when I bought it. I must be in the minority still using the oem disks and pads. Now upto 45k miles, including 6 trips to the ring.

Weirdly - 15k miles since fitting (before bruntingthorpe) and I can hardly detect any wear at all in that time! front or rear! running on standard discs which may be a factor but they still look like they have tons of pad on them. Even the discs don't seem to be detiorating, which is good for the pocket, but bad for my desire to get some nifty pads on there!

The way its going, the money spent on them could make economical sense, and not just in a performance sense! :D

was quoted 103 quid for the ds 2500,think i might as well saty standard for half the price, and that is dealer prices, they have yet to fade at all on the road and on the track who needs brakes ?they only slow you down ;)

The code that i have for the 2500s is FDS 1463 for the fronts and it's taken from Ferodo's website ! Am i wrong somewhere ? At me the dealers have huge prices. The original pads are about 150E !!! I can purchase the DS wich are twice as good for half that price !

Fronts are FCP590H rears FCP492H IIRC

When i check on ferodo's site at 'DS performance' section , i get FDS 1643 for Octavia 1.8T(150bhp) & RS (180bhp)

Interesting..

The part no's Jon posted (from memory) are the ones that were on the boxes mine came in, but the Ferodo site lists the different no's.

Actual part No v catalogue No perhaps ?

just use DS3000 and stop being a bunch of big girls blouses...

do you wanna stop or not:D ?
