wet a*se

Featured Replies

i went to the car today and i noticed my passenger window half way down.i know i put it up fully last night(electric) and it is now the second time this has happened the last being approx. 7-8 months ago and both times when it has been raining heavy.the interior is wet and i am now thinking this will be a long drawn out fix where i will have to find the cause by trial and error.if anybody else has had this problem and has fixed it or someone can shed light onto what it could be i would really appreciate it.

If the regulator goes then the window can fall down like that. We had that problem with my sisters Leon while we were in holiday and I managed to manhandle the window up to close it but it just dropped down again overnight. If that was the problem though I would've thought your window would'nt open or shut properly with the switch.

If the regulator's ok, I think the problem is with the electronic side of the controls. Either way it's a door skin off and look job.

i think the rain is shorting just that window by getting through the seal.i'm gonna open the door skin and wrap the electrics in cling film that should make them nice and waterproof.

Check the drivers door LED. If this stays on constantly while the car is running, then the central convenience unit has logged a fault. My guess is that water has made it's way into the loom connector at the electric window motor.

the LED is off i am going to take the skin off at the w/end and have a good nosey in there.

oes the LED blink normally when the car is locked?

I wouldnt wrap it in cling film, electrical tape would be best to protect it from elements. I am not sure if cling film is good for much heat.
