MP3 connection

Featured Replies

My new Fabia has an MP3 socket adjacent to the hand brake.

What spec do I need when buying a player and will a connection lead be included?

Thanks in advance. Jim

I presume you have a Fabia II and the socket is a 3.5 mm jack plug - like a headphone socket.

If so you need a MP3 player with a headphone socket (i.e. any make / model etc etc) and then buy male-to-male 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable - shouldn't be more than a couple of quid if not less on ebay

Wish my vRS had an MP3 connection :thumbdwn:. Wouldn't swap it for anything else though

You can add one, either ipod or jack input. You'll lose your cd multichanger through (unless you make a switch up)

It would have to be very straightforward for me to take the risk. Caused problems with electronics / diagnostics on another VRS when head unit was swapped.

Fairzo, its a plug and play unit. Just need to find a way to get the lead from the back of the headunit to wherever you want it. Mines goes into the glovebox.

I'm sure there's plenty of local members of here that would give you a hand for beer money. Else dealers can fit the iPod unit for you

So is it a Skoda accessory for the standard headunit as I didn't think there was one?

The iPod link is a standard VAG accessory. Cost about £90 + fitting. If you want to be able to connect a 3.5 mm jack into your headunit you'll need to buy a kit off ebay, or elsewhere, and get it fitted

?koda Accessories

Is this the one? Shows no longer available and for use with blaupunkt aftermarket head unit (which is where the diagnostic problem started :()
