Door Open Warning Light

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Even though all doors are fully closed on my Octavia the door open warning light remains illuminated. The dealer has diagnosed this as a faulty switch on the rear hatch locking mechanism and has ordered me a new one.

Unfortunately I won't be able to get it fixed for another couple of weeks at the earliest and it's driving me nuts. Is there a known fault and an easy fix I can do in the meantime??

I also think this is causing a 'fault' with the alarm system as the alarm has been triggered on a number of occasions. The only explanation I can give is that the dash light stays illuminated after locking for a period of time and when the light goes out the drop in voltage is triggering the system.

Any help much appreciated.

disconnect wire multiplug at tailgate lock is only answer

I use to have the same problem in my L&K and the Skoda change the completely Orange lock mechanism in the Trunk.

I think is a good idea to disconect the wiresas Big K sugest.
