I drive a VW transporter(T30 swb) 1.9TDI at work and some other guys in their 20s can drive it on their car licence so i guess its in class B

i can drive everything so there:P

i can drive everything badly so there:P

:P:rofl:

As said above the type of transit depends on it's class.

SWB and LWB transits with single pair of tyres on the rear axle will almost certainly be less than 3.5 tonne. Any decent hire company will be able to confirm the vehicle class for you anyway.

thats correct, I work for Parcelforce, even the really long wheel base Mercs can be driven on a normal car licence. as they don't exceed 3.5t. Tthere are some exceptions to the twin wheel on the rear axel as the old ldv convoys are under 3.5t.

The hire company should be asking for proff you have the required licence for the van you want to hire.
