vRS Estate Rear Shock Query

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of slowly sorting out the odd thing on the Octy that's not quite to my liking and one of the things that's definitely shot is the shock absorbers. I've just been to GSF to get a replacement set and bought these:

45639D OCTAVIA ESTATE 97>06 STD

However on the website they also list these:

45639E OCTAVIA 01>06 AUQ WITH SPORT SUSPENSION

Have I bought the wrong bits? I gave them the car registration so i'm hoping I got the right set but just want to double check!

I'd imagine the vRS dampers are different to standard ones, as you'll have the 'Sport' suspension.

Go back and double check with them, because it looks like you've got 'Standard' ones.

Yes, vRS has sports suspension.

Oh and get some new bump stops while your there, as they tend to rip in two. Unless yours are fine...

I didn't know if because it was an estate it ran different rear shocks to a hatchback vRS but that's now given me the clarification I needed! Cheers guys!

And yep, the bump stops are proper f**ked so they'll be getting replaced too!

The estate does have different rear suspension, you need the Sports rear suspension for the estate not hatchback.

Hmm... can't see that listed on the GSF website. They've only got standard hatch shock and the two I listed above. Skoda dealer only job?
