Because a 13.8 1/4 time isnt good enough.. I went down to GTi Inters .......

Coming on from the thread found here http://briskoda.net/general-car-chat/because-14-7-1-4-time-isnt-good-enough-i-went-down-santa-pod-yesturday/123556/

I felt a 13.83 just wasnt good enough for a TDi,

So I ran down at Inters a few weeks back, and was happy with the results found here

GTI International Results

Just click on the sunday's events for 0-60 and 1/4

Happy at the 0-60 of 5 seconds dead, and 1/4 of 13.5 for the day :)

Water meth now ordered so hoping less smoke, more power = faster :D

Bloody good results. So what the full spec?

Have you run at a proper track? With accurate timing gear?

Edit: I see you've run at Pod, but Inters results should be taken with a pinch (read: spoonful) of salt!

That old chest nut ;) Drop Devon a PM and tell him his PB times he got on the same day, are tosh mate :D

But a 13.8 @ Pod last year do ya?

EDIT - Agree'd however based on a 2nd gear launch at Inters rather than 1st at Pod, I dont think its far off wrong. 2nd place went to Andy, who has ran a 12.5 down at pod before, yet ran a 13.8 at Inters.

In that case, very impressive for a tractor engined front-wheel drive car

Cheers matey... Is this one of those bets you secretly want to loose? Either way, your going to :D

My car needs to be able to cover the 1/4 in the 12's otherwise its slow, I have told myself this lol

Cheers man, have to admit im impressed with how the car performance has come on, its no 1.8T but hey ;)

You're in the August Volkswagen driver mag that came out today...

Shame that mag didn't do top 3 instead of just top 2 as I would have crept into the diesel class :D

And the skodas way down in the 15s :thumbdwn:

Better than the 17s on the Saturday :D

The barstewards changed me from Skoda to Diesel on the start line. :D

Thanks for heads up on the mag bit! I didnt think people would put their real names down haha! So I just used T. Spark! Doh!

LOL, They had me down as Seat to start with on the form, until I pointed out I wanted to be in the diesel class, wouldnt have mattered either way, as I would have ran fastest in that class to for the weekend :D

Got the water meth ordered now, and my multispoke rims are ready for some slicks. lets go for low 13's me thinks next :)

Slicks are cheating!

I'm not bothering with slicks, it's harder to get heat into them and they slipped probably more than road tyres when I used them, even when 235 wide. :)

I think next time I'll need some serious strippage.

Haha, I mean like 888's or similar, think they are classed as semi-slicks as still road legal. Always need to be street legal otherwise the times IMHO arent worth running

You have 235 on ur fab mate? I run 215's on the standard 16s which seems to do the trick

That's alright then!

It's meant to be RWYB, not RWYBTCTTO (...then changed the tyres on!)

Awesome! I might cheat a little just to see the difference and put up the pressures on the rear next time.

Ive never altered tyre pressures on the front or back on any runs ive done, but might do just to see one day, if I can be bothered!

The problem I face is it will never be really fast down a 1/4 as its got bits on for corners, and braking too which weight alot! If I wanted it to be JUST a 1/4 car it could be faster than it is now, with no power increase as could take more weight off like the big *** heavy brakes, and arbs/braces etc
