F**king big hammer ;)

Every days a school day!

Uh-huh. DPD?

It wasn't a Fabia. It wasn't even a Skoda. Was that why you used a hammer? Polo hatred?

They do share lots of parts, but as there are already at least two photographic guides on doing console bushes, neither of which feature a large hammer, fornicating or not, maybe you might like to illustrate your original post with pictures of exactly what you hit with a big hammer so someone who knows how to do it properly can explain why using said big hammer isn't a good idea?

The thought of a mechanic hitting my steering with a hammer at all doesn't exactly thrill me. There is a recommended SEAT lubricant to ease them home and there is a special tool for the job that eases them home.

Seriously - this sounds like it could do more damage than good.

OK OK i was trying to be funny

I just meant that it was easy to insert the wishbone in to the original bush than it was for the mod SEAT Cupra ones:rofl:
