Leaking Fabia!

Featured Replies

Im sure everyones experienced the endless downpouring of rain we've had the last couple of weeks. Well its seems to have effected me Fabia more than me. I got in the car to get home from work and noticed that rain water seemed to be leaking through the pollen filter onto the passenger side of my car and had waterlogged the passenger side of my car, as pictured. It also seemed to be leaking through the panel on the right hand side of the passenger footwell, quite worrying as my alarm seems to be flipping out about it now!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knows the solution and/or what steps I need to take next?

drain holes under the scuttle panel are probably blocked

WOAH! Thats insane!

Hope you get that sorted pal!

Holy ****!

And the award for leakiest Fabia goes too.............np1985

(And he did it all with out leaky doors!)

Seriously though, ric04vrs has pointed out the most likely cause.. it's been seen before but not on your scale! Hope it dries out soon!

Whoa!! I thought mine was bad when that happened , it was the scuttle drain hole on mine as well , you will need a new pollen fliter as well as it will be completely sodden.

Is this a DIY job or will it need to go to a garage?

That was just the front seat, the back was just as bad. Needed a bucket to scoop out the excess water! Just my luck it would happen when it rained all day

And yeah Ive taken the pollen filter out, its pretty much a soggy mess now...

Anybody got any idea about the alarm? It goes off as soon as you set it, but if you leave it to sort itself out, it rarely goes off again  faulty sensor maybe?

Quick update, diagnosis by rico was spot on. I check the drain plug on the passengers side, pulled it out and loads of sludge and water came gushing out, since then no leaks :D

I tried to check the other plug near the drivers side behind the brake fluid tank, but I couldnt reach my hand to it...anybody know of a way of accessing it easily? Also is it actually worth keeping the rubber plugs in or not?
