Recommend me a car!

Featured Replies

I'm after a new car, as title

Budget: £3,000 (but could go up as far as £5,000 for the right car)

Must Haves: Fun, different, not diesel, not really worried about practicality.

Not really bothered about insurance (but don't start suggesting 944's etc!) or fuel costs as I do 300 miles a month.

So... what have you?

Skyline...:D

(seriously, you could pick up a really nice r33 GTsT for £3-4k and insurance isn't that bad on the single turbo versions...)

You can have a BMW 328i for £3k. Lol ;)

Nissan 300ZX (a la TG the other week)

Toyota Celica GT (one near me for £1500, not mint, but it is clean)

VW Corrado

a few "different" choices that an autotrader search brings up:

1997 Lexus LS 4.0 V8

2002 Proton Impian 1.6X (REALLY?? 3 GRAND???)

2002 Chryslet PT Cruiser 2.0 Touring

1998 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8 V6

2001 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Sport

Not a bad shout that! I'll take a look at some :) Finding one that hasn't been f*cked might be a challenge.

2-door, possibly!

300ZX - damn good idea!

Celica - never been a fan, sorry

'raddo - would love a VR6, but I idealy want something with air-con, and they are RARE!

Only the ones on here are over-priced :)

£3K would get a pretty good 328i Sport, which is one heck of a car.

You just cant beat the noise of a Beemer straight 6!

That sort of money should also enable you to get a B5 shape S4. Another fantastic car.

Infact 3-4k would probably get you a semi decent E36 M3 ;)

I'd need money left over to make it less... chavvy! lol

There's a few M3's.... I'd need to get standard 3-series wing mirrors though!

Not sure if you're into Type R stuff or not...

But nice and clean for the money...

Honda : 1998 Honda Integra Type R

.......

Has a full stainless steel exhaust system and a big air filter! Sounds awesome when you hit v-tec!

:rolleyes::rofl:

.......

:rolleyes::rofl:

Looking back at the pics....cant see how that air filter sitting next to the engine is going to help matters :D

Do you like kit cars?

I just find myself being quite bored by a lot of cars, but can't seem to find anything exciting*!

*that I can afford!

I've got a mistrust of everything and everyone... and seeing the TopGear crew making a Cateram doesn't inspire any trust in other people building them!

Fair point! Guess your looking for something you can just drive now too?

Classic? Modern? Convertible?

Not really bothered... would like some semblance of creature comforts though!

S4's are a no-no, getting on towards £7,000 for a decent one that's not been to the moon!
