Rattle coming from front of car

Featured Replies

Hi,

My car has developed a rattle. The rattle starts when I put the car in neutral and after a few seconds the rattle will start. At first I thought it was the loose engine cover, so that was removed, rattle still there. Then I removed the undertray, thinking it was that rattling, nope rattle still there. Any idea's as to where this rattle is coming from, and also would the clutch peddle vibrate if the gearbox mountings where worn. Before anyone says have I used the search, I have, and I can't find anything.

Thanks,

Chris

Might be worth checking the clutch/flywheel as i was getting vibration through my clutch pedal and a rattling in neutral and it was the DMF which has now been replaced with a SMF and new clutch.

Did you drop a twenty pence piece down by the handbrake opening? or was it a driveshaft

The plastic cap on the end of the alternator shaft where the belt is? (mine is atm lol)

Left a spanner in the engine compartment?

I returned a small torque wrench to the garage years ago when I found it in the engine bay of my Fiat 127 when checking the levels!
