Yes you can get them from your dealer, or go to the Thule website.

Yes you can get them from your dealer, or go to the Thule website.

The rails or the feet

Both, Thule has standard bars with individual feet to suit individual cars. Probably the Skoda ones are the same.

That's right. You don't need to have roof rails to mount Thule, Mont Blanc, etc. roof boxes or other roof accessories. Besides, this is cheaper and far simpler way to go since fitting roof rails is quite tricky.

How could a roof box fixed without a roof rail? :)

Any product link? Thanks...

Thanks for your replies , i called Thule and they say they dont make feet for the roomster ? only if you have rails , does anyone know a part number or maybe ill give Mont Blanc and a skoda main dealer a bell to see what they say

Sorry, I really thought Thule and others made feet for every car, but I've had a quick Google and can only find bars to fit the Roomster with rails. Even Skoda's accessory brochure only shows them for cars with rails. It quotes £110 for rails but that's without fitting.

I'm relieved that mine came with the rails because I'd be in the same boat, I wouldn't have even considered that I couldn't get bars so i could use my box.

Hopefully a more thorough search might find a solution somewhere so, good luck.

I have seen some that attach to the roof using suction and they are claimed to be 100% secure. It might be worth trying to find those and checking them out. Otherwise I'm sorry I mislead you, and good luck with your search.

For example by using standard Thule Rack Systems:

And then adding one of the Box Carriers:

Thule

What I meant by the previous post is that there's no need for OEM Skoda roof rails in order to mount a box on a car. :)

But there is no recess or canal to fix them without a roof rails...

This solution won't work on Roomster IMO.

On many cars the Thule foot has a rubber pad that sits on the roof and a clamp that slots into the top of the door reecess. But I can't find any reference to them for the Roomster.

I apologize if I gave wrong advice , although I would be somewhat surprised if Roomster (plain version, not Scout) doesn't have a recess or canal to clamp down roof racks. Octavia has them... I don't know about Fabia, but again that would be a big drawback if it doesn't. :thumbdwn:

I think, but I'm not certain, that the Fabia Estates come with roof rails as standard. I don't understand why the Roomsters don't, given the type of car they are and if, as it appears, it's impossible to fit any type of roof rack without them. It seems like a serious omission on Skoda's part.

At least it should be made clear that you need one with rails if you're likely to ever need to carry anything on the roof.

Edit, I just looked at the skoda website and all the Fabia Estates and the Roomster Scout have roof rails as Standard, but they are options on the Estate 2 and the Roomster S & SE. They should be standard on all just like the fabia Estate.
