Retro Fit Reversing Sensors - An Update

Featured Replies

Wimped out and had my reversing sensors fitted for me, what a doddle! Mark out the bumber for positions using masking tape, double check, and then drill straight through bumper and rubbing strip to mount sensors. Undo screws at bottom of bumber to access wires, and then feed through into boot using existing grommet in centre of rear panel, link up to unit, mount speaker and connect to reversing light lead and earth. Really was that simple and took just on an hour.:thumbup:

I alos got mine fitted professionally by a mate of mine so didn't have to pay full price, and it was a good job I did.

One thing you need to be careful with is where you drill the holes and what is behind the bumper, so you don't drill into the supports or brackets, plus you need to get them equally spaced and straight.

The guy had great fun trying to position them and ended up taking off the year bumper and doing it on a bench, all looks lovely now. Having said that, that was on my current car a Honda Accord and fitted some 18 months.

Still waiting for a delivery date on me Octy 2.0TDi, but hopefully before Chrimbo.
