Anyone tried Wynns Direct Injection Power 3

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried this product and is it good for cleaning the gunk from the inlet valves, something these engines suffer from?

Direct Injection Power 3

Nope. But I do use Millers Diesel Power Sport 4 in my current car which is a VW Golf 140TDi and I think it makes it run smoother & it does appear to give me more MPG!

How can it possibly keep the inlet valves clean if it never goes near them?

You spray it into the air intake (post Maf i presume) whilst the engine is running which is supposed to be how it cleans the valves.

looks very much like 10k tune to me ;)

I have used a normal Wynns injector cleaner but not this one.

I meant the fuel additive, read the blurb. It says that it keeps the inlet valves clean.

Maybe it means the inner surface of the valves, the bit in the combustion chamber, rather than the outer??

Well the important bit is the bit that the air flows over, which won't be helped by any fuel additive.

Thats true, i was more interested in the can of spray for the air intake rather than the fuel additive bottle.

Don't know anything about the Wynn's one, but I know people who use either 10k or powerboost. Wasn't too inpressed by the 10k but the powerboost seemed to work quite well (I was surprised these worked at all).

Ecotek PowerBoost

Thanks very helpful

Just been looking at the Ecotek site and noticed the CB-26P. I bought one of those for my mk2 Golf years ago, but drove it through a wall before I got around to fitting it. I've since lost the thing so I never did find out if it actually works.
