Vibration through peddles and steering despite new DMF

Featured Replies

This week I had a new clutch, release bearing and DMF fitted to my 07 2.0 TDI. The symptoms were a distinct vibration felt through the clutch, accelerator and steering wheel (even through the seats, gear lever and jumbo box). With the clutch, just depressing it an inch or so to take up the slack in the cable was enough to feel substantial vibration. After a drive of just half an hour my feet and hands would tingle.

Despite the new parts, the vibrations are still present - not as bad admittedly, but definitely there. My wife drove the car today and she confirmed that it was not my imagination!

So what else can be the problem? I would say it's not wheel or tyre related as the clutch vibration can be felt when the car is stationary.

I'll be contacting the dealer again on Monday and arrange for myself and the technician to take both my car and a "normal" car from their forecourt for a drive to compare them, but any suggestions would be much, much appreciated!

They changed, to quote the garage, "the clutch plate, bearing and flywheel"

Thanks
