The Hearse

Featured Replies

Well for those that don't already know. I am the current owner of "The Beast".

Previous forum owners have been Eddhy H, Bill and Cuppra Matt. The car is well known and it sometimes scares me how much people know about it.

I'm injecting some TLC and some hard earned cash into the car just to keep it looking tip top. So far i've spent about 2K on sorting out a few niggles and getting it back in A1 condition. Theres a few more things in the pipeline too but as you can see from the spec list theres not much else that can be done to the car.

Between all the owners (but mainly Eddy) its had some serious amount of work, money and time spent on it which makes it one hell of a car:cool:

if you do a search it the same write up every time :o

sorry to be negative it a lovely motor

are you going to bring it to some rolling road days so we can all see the mamouth power ????

What did you spend the £2k on ? Each new owner seems to say it has niggles ?

One hell of a car this

Saw it when EddyH owned it a few year back, and I'm sure Mark will pamper it with the love and attention it deserves.

Enjoy it mate

Cheers

Damian

ps I never tire of reading the spec list, it's awesome! :D

Its fast approaching 2k which so far has been spent on a number of things. The more expensive parts being: Cluster repair. Central Locking replacement in passenger door (common fault) more than one part. Couple of electrical issues. New cat1 alarm. Hands free kit. Respray and rust on tailgate caused by window/handle (common fault on estates). etc etc. By the time i've re-remapped it the cost will be just short of 2k.

I see it like this. Whenever someone who like cars gets a new car they spend money on it to get what they want. I know theres a few things not 100% right so I have/will fix them. In simple terms theres nothing wrong with the car but its not perfect so i'm trying to get it to the highest standard possible.

Once the remap is done it needs nothing at all. And it doesnt technically need a remap but I think it could do with some tweaking which someone is working on for me as we speak.

Added the remap bit at the end.

Cheers Damo,

Seems like you can't please everyone:rotz:

See you at the snipe meet next week unless you go tonight

I agree, epic car!!

A car like this will always need a little something to keep it tip-top, its all part of the fun!!

Enjoy it!

Cool, just wondered thats all. Sounds like it's in good hands

sounds like it has landed in the hands of someone who will bring it to her best well done fella

i wasnt being an **** i love the car:thumbup:

what should the power be then with the 28 on??

  • Author

I dont know what the power should be as it hasnt been RR'd with the 28 on (to my knowledge). I would expect at least 350 from the GT28. I think the map on it now is the one done for the GT3071R (over 400bhp) which is why IMO it needs tweaking.

I need to get it RR'd so I know where it's at right now and then make a decision on a remap with the GT2871R........ Or a bigger turbo ........and bigger brakes:rofl:

forst dibs on your brake setup:P:thumbup:

i would have thought running the gt28 on a gt30 map would not be a good idea buddy with fueling etc etc...

how about a gt40 big boys toy wont spool until 7k but will give you 500rpm to play with lol:rofl:

The only thing i would change is the name..... the 1st beast was also a black one owned by DaveU then me, now owned by rsorion

Thank you phil for the concerns on "the beast" name, but having been in the car i am happy to share the name with mark and his car.

The car is such a good motor, all the power goes down so well (may need better tyres tho ) and i would say one of the best parts is the stopping power in those brakes .

Would like to get some pics of them side by side, and maybe on a 1/4 mile strip some were:):)

Yeah, it's the brakes that wowed me the most. Awesome stuff.

Very nice motor Mark..... Hopefully i'll get to see it in the flesh at a meet sometime soon. :)

How's the family all doin'??

Cheers

Dave.

Hello octimark,

Is it a Ferrari with a Skoda badge ?? LOL

Quite a neat piece of work, well-done, don't envy the colour, what a beast to keep clean.!!

Ian. 23/08/2009. :D:thumbup:

The turbo is boosting at just over 1.5 bar. It's a quick car no doubt, and it will certainly be looked after by its current owner.

Hey up Dave,

Were all well thanks. I hope you are too.

I'm sure we will get chance to catch up at one of the next meets. See you soon.

  • 2 weeks later...

I still miss this car sometimes.

BTW I never called it the Beast, I prefer The Hearse; because it's dead fast. :P
