Rear ARB fitment on Fabia 2

Featured Replies

My understanding is that the Fabia 2 is built on the same platform as the Fabia 1 (very similar to Polo 9N chassis). Does this mean that rear anti-roll bar specified for the Fabia 1 should fit a Fabia 2 - or is there some complication (e.g. different exhaust routing, fuel tank etc etc)?

I notice that Awesome list a Whiteline rear ARB for the Fabia 1 but nothing for the Fabia 2 - I guess if it fitted they would list it as such?? Can anyone shed any light on this? I reckon a rear ARB would be a worthwhile mod on the Fab 2.

Any pics nutz? how does it feel with it on :)

Hi Guys,

I posted this thread... http://briskoda.net/fabia-ii/rear-arb-fitted/128771/

It handles as should have done from the factory. The steering and handling became very sharp and the bodyroll is nearly gone.

Futhermore I have fitted it with H&R springs and Koni adjustable shocks (also from Sarah..) so it is very fun to drive now....;)

G'day everyone,

Hope you don't mind us piping in but we were told that there was a fitment question re swaybars for Fabia 2.

Just wanted to make sure we got it right but we currenlty list "Skoda Fabia Mk1-2 Typ6Y 99-06" as a single application with an adjustable fron and rear bar listed, BWF18Z front and BWR19Z rear.

Hoep that's correct to your understanding of model commonality, please let us know.

Cheers

The Fabia 2 (2007-on) under discussion here has a chassis designation '5J'.

I believe it is a very similar (if not identical) platform to the 6Y, but its possible that there may be some small differences (e.g. splash shields, exhaust routing, small track change) that preclude fitting of the '6Y' rear ARB. Are you able to clarify at all?

Since, in all fairness, it's a brace for the beam and not a true anti-roll bar, as long as the beam's the same width and the trailing arms the same length, there won't be any problems since it doesn't move relative to the beam or anything...

But there are any number of small changes that Skoda may have made that could interfere with fitting (e.g. small changes to beam dia., shock mounting hole location, bolt dia. etc etc). I would like to hear the OK from the manufacturer prior to purchase, rather than buy one and find it 'doesn't quite' fit and have the hassle and cost of returning it. On the Awesome website its specifically listed as 'Fabia Pre-2007' - so I wouldn't be in strong position if it didn't fit my 2008 model and I wanted to return it!

Same here, I really want one for mine, for what it does it represents really good value for money

My car is listed in the option codes as being fitted with a heavy duty rear axle (Do they all have this?) Would this interfere in any way?

7 0N2 L HIA Heavy-duty rear axle

Can someone else check their car to see if they also have this fitted?

Hi guys,

I can´t find the part no. on the invoice but it states that it fits Fabia/Polo 9N + 9N2 + GTI.

Hope this is any help to anyone.

G’day everyone,

Hauptmann, our UK and Europe distributors provided the info on the platform sharing as a product of fit up experience in their market. Without asking specifically about this one I understand that rear ARB part # BWR19Z fits the later 2007- generation. However, I will ask our Euro guys to double check and let us all know.

Back soon.

Cheers

Hi jim

do you also stock front anti roll bars? :P

G'day everyone,

Thanks for the thumbs up, happy to help :D

As for the front swaybar, might be useful for you to take a look at www.whiteline.com.au and do a lookup for the Skoda Fabia and see everything we have which includes BWF18Z adjustable front bar as well.

Also, we've changed the website to help local look up of dealers and reccoemndede pricing so go to Whiteline Automotive - Worldwide Dealers for performance handling and suspension products to see who might have stock of above. All else fails, Whiteline UK should have stock, contact via [email protected] .

Let me know if you have any problems.

Cheers

jim would these parts fit on a 2008 Fabia?

Because i am intrested in buying some

Can you fit this rear arb on the 2008 estate too, if so whats the fitted price please.

G'day guys,

markmi, Wheeler, not sure on the 2008 and Estate fit but the local boys (Whiteline Master Dealer) might have some fresher and more detailed news on this. Could I suggest that you contact Graeme or Job at ph: 01383 723850 or email: [email protected] and tell them tha you were talking to Whiteline Jim on Briskoda.

And if they don't look after you they'll have me to deal with ;)

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers

Well, I have ordered a W/L rear ARB to fit to my wife's 2008 hatch 1.9TDI. It should arrive in a week or two and I'll report back on fitment.
