FL Vrs Tdi ordered today

Featured Replies

:)Hi Guys, Just took the plunge and ordered a new FL Vrs Tdi hatch in Race Blue with a hoist of factory extras. these include Xenon lights, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Columbus Sat Nav, Mdi, Full Leather, Heated Seats, Auto Dim Rear View Mirror etc and Spare Wheel. Only bad thing is that I will have to wait around 12 weeks before I can get my hands on it. Look out for a set of 18" Zenith wheels for sale along with a MFD2 and Columbus for sale shortly. I realise that some may say I should have swapped over the Columbus but I wanted to make sure the parking display works and that the unit will come with the 3 years warranty the same as the new car. My current Vrs Tdi will be traded in the next 2 weeks and the dealer is going to supply me with a car until the new one comes at no extra cost, this is just that they could not guarantee a trade in price now when the new one comes.:)

Congratulations, be interested to know if the order for the headed leather goes through ok when I ordered Skoda UK said it couldn't be done.

Similar spec to mine except for mines is Petrol, no Sat Nav and no Leather. I've been given an initial build date of week 44.

Cangratulations on the new vRS.

But i think the FL vRS has 18" neptune alloys? not zenith

Hi mate you are correct in that the new car will come with 18" Neptune alloys, I will be selling my 18" Zenith alloys as I still have the factory 17" Zenith alloys which I will be refitting to the Vrs that I am trading in as the dealer did a good deal but was not willing to give much more for the trade in if I left the 18" wheels on, hence the reason for selling the 18" Zenith alloys along with two sat navs, one MFD2 and one Columbus.

Thanks for your comments mate.

Congrats, oh not another blue one:rolleyes:

Just thinking alound here buy considering a columbus, how much you looking for yours?

Yes you are right another blue one, I did consider a grey one but I just love that race blue, some may say that I should have gone for a different coulor as the Vrs that is being traded in is race blue but each to there own.

Thanks for the comments.

Phoned the dealer today regarding the heated leather option and they said the order was being procesed in the afternoon and would call back if there was any problems. The dealer did not call back so I can only asume the order was ok, I did make it clear to the dealer that if I could not have heated leather I may have to have re-think. Will keep you all posted.

Hi Boys, not happy as the dealer has phoned me today to say that the heated leather seats can't be ordered. They say that the car is built with the heated half leather seats at the factory and when the car comes to this country the seats are removed and replaced with the full leather seats without the heating elements. They think that if I processed the order then the car would come with the heated seat buttons and they would not work due the fact the full leather seats would not have the heating elements in them. Can't make my mind up what to go for.

Ditch the leather I recon......not sure I would be happy them stripping out the car to replace the seats. Potential for damage, etc. Also, talking with my dealer he thinks they are not worth it.

Up to you .....I have ordered full leather but will be changing this on Tuesday to normal leather.

I've seen several interior shots of FL cars with the full leather option and heated seat buttons (albeit not UK cars). I think the Aus spec. cars come as standard with heated full leather  so don't see why this should be a problem here.

Thought that may happen unfortunately, still waiting to hear back from my dealer again though as I asked him again to check since so many people on here had placed orders for heated leather, personally I'd rather have heat than leather though.

this would seem to me to make no economic sense?

do they do the same with the L&K? and do they have depots in every other european country where they can fit leather seats for the local market...and what do they do with the seats they remove!?

I know the LE came with standard seats to the uk and had the leather fitted, but they were bespoke seats for 500 cars..is the dealer just not getting mixed up with those

Hello again guys, I think I have made my mind up and go for the heated seats over the leather and save a little money up and go for a full re-trim. And as I have saved money on not going for leather I will go for the estate with sunset glass and silver roof rails, just a little more than hatch with leather but you only live once. Or I did test drive an Audi A4 Avant executive tdi s-line with sat nav, parking and heated seats but the price scared the living shxx out of me. I will be on the phone to the dealer in the morning to place the revised order. Looks like the estate is looking more than tempting:)

I've spoken to my dealer about heated leather seats (as I've ordered them) and they say there is no issue. The factory has accepted my order so I'd assume if there was a problem they would of rejected it.

To me It sounds like the dealer is getting confused with the LE.

Now I am confused! Surely Skoda must realise that if people want full leather seats, they will want the heated seat option too.

I started off being unsure wether to order the leather or not, as I hadnt physically seen what the leather is like, and two different dealers gave me different descriptions of it. But now dealers are saying you cant have them heated, and then another says you can??

Was the price for the heated seats the same as the un-heated seats? I guess that they are still the vRS design.

Its a £218 option for heated seats!

I was getting confused, and assumed that you could only get the heated seats with the leather option, but I guess that you can have it with the cloth seats. It would seem to be more useful with the leather seats.

hi mate that sounds interesting as I would like to know when you get your hands on the car if the heated leather seats work OK as my dealer told me that they remove the seats and replace with full leather without the heating elements. I may be wrong and I will be on the phone to skoda if there are vrs cars in the UK with heated leather seats as I would have liked to specified both.

My car should turn up mid to end of October (dealers estimate). If it's missing the heated seats I won't be a happy bunny!

I'll email the factory, they responded reasonably quickly last time with detail on what leather the seats are made of. I'll post back their response.

  • 4 weeks later...

The factory responded. As expected the Vrs leather is available heated (good job too as mine was supposed to be built last week):

thank you for your interest in Skoda Octavia RS. In model Octavia RS can be ordered with heated leather seats. For more informations about Octavia RS can be found websities: http://new.skoda-auto.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Catalogue/NewOctavia/NewOctaviaRS_Catalogue_ENG.pdf
