Driver's door central locking problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I believe someone here could help me. Have no idea what happened but when I close my door the small red light on the door and the roof light are still lighting and I cannot lock my car. When trying to lock the car can only lock my door the others remain open. Also, when lock the door windows left open get closed which is normal but when taking the key out of the door all windows get fully open. Basically, I'm able to use central locking only from inside by pressing button on the driver's door. I think the switch inside the door which turns lights off might be broken and maybe it is connected somehow to the central locking. I have no idea how it works, please help me.

try searching for "central convenience fault" in the Octavia forum - should give you some possibilities,

My guess would be water ingress in the connector at the drivers side elec window.

Thank a lot, I'm gonna try to look inside the door, it's gonna be for a first time :-p

Check this out:

Rob's Skoda vRS

Front door is almost identical to take apart.

The doors courtesy switch is located inside of the lock. The drivers side also primes the fuel pump when you open the door. It may take longer to start the engine

Also, when lock the door windows left open get closed which is normal but when taking the key out of the door all windows get fully open.

Based on the above, it could be the door lock barrel breaking up and holding the lock over in the open position causing all the windows to open and the interior lights to stay on. It'll be easier to take the lock barrel out and have a look. If it's the type that comes apart, repair kits are cheap from Skoda.
