I have just ordered one myself from an Australian supplier (Auspack Electronics). You can read about these units on the VW navi forums. Search for WD6050. Looks like the same thing but for VW.

Theres a 185 page forum mentioning various problems with them, but the latest model apparently has a lot of the bugs sorted and work quite well.

Should have mine installed in a couple of weeks and I can let you know how it goes.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just finished putting mine into my Octy 2. It works very well for the money. Installed myself in a few hours. The reverse camera installation took longer.

There is no control / display of the climate and you still get the beeps from the rear park sensors but no display. I have rear camera installed so seeing the sensors on display is now not required.

The right steering wheel controls work and only the mute button on the left of the wheel.

The MFD can display radio, SD card, phone number calling and use the wiper stalk buttons to change tracks - But cannot get back to main MFD screen without disconnecting battery. Its easier to use the touch screen anyway.

Hello,

Be careful with these units lads, I saw one on the web for about £350 where most proper ICE sites want £550 for them, the site I saw had no real contact info and I suspect the unit would never arrive.

We also have at least one web-store which offers those devices. The price is around 500 euros, and delivery time is 6 to 8 weeks, so that thing alone makes it an offer that i CAN refuse.

Why ? Because if something goes wrong, and the device gets broken, I`m pretty sure that you can`t get a new one right away, and if it`s sent for repair somewhere several thousand kilometres away, it will be a long time to wait....:thumbdwn:
