Annoying uprights in the boot - vRS

Featured Replies

In the boot of my Fabia vRS there are 2 uprights on the left of the compartment which compromises significant floor space.

I've looked through the manual and there is no mention of them in there so can only assume they were an option or additional part added my a previous owner. Anyone know what they are and if I can remove them without damaging the car it self? Thanks

They look like cd-changer mounts.. can't see any problem with whipping them out. Most probably only attached to the boot floor cover anyway?

:iagree: - they're certainly Torxed down through the carpet. You might want to get some blanking plugs if they're through the floor floor but I don't think they are.

Now that you've said that I can't believe how obvious that it was a mount for a cd changer or amp etc!!! I'm so thick! Ta very much.

Isn't that where the flux capacitor goes? ;)

I thought the CD changer is normally fitted out the way in the compartment under the front passenger seat. That one must have been retro-fitted in the boot by someone. It seams a daft place to put it. I like Ian's comment above about the Flux Capacitor! :D

I would remove the brackets, then put the screws back to cover the holes and then find some grey/black carpet/material to cover the patches up.

Another option would be to find a Fabia in a breakers and buy the boot floor/carpet and just switch them over.
