I have a skoda octavia vrs with the 6 speaker system. i want to change all speakers and the head unit now what size will fit into the front as i have a set of jl audio csi 650 i think they are 6.5 with tweeters now will these fit straight in to the speaker pods and also the tweeters ones, will i be able to use the exsiting wires. Also how would i replace the fronts can i just pop off the speaker grille. what about 6500cs - 16.5cm Component CAR SPEAKERS - NEW

can anyone reconmend some rear speakers or fronts and give me some advice please thanks

The vRS actually has an 8-speaker sound system - a pair of front "mids" and tweeters, a pair of rear tweeter in the rear doors, and a pair of rear "mids" on either side of the parcel shelf...

The thing to watch out for with front speakers is the depth - shallow basket speakers are usually a better choice, though there are ways round this if the speaker is too deep.

You can get to the "mids" by popping off the speaker grille, and the front tweeters can be accessed by unhooking their surrounding trim.

The exisiting wires can be used, but the connectors for the "mids" have four terminals on them - one of these is used for the signal to the "mid", the other pair pass the signal to the tweeter.

So if you get coaxial speakers, you can just use the signal from the "mids" and ignore the other pair of connectors...

thanks for all the help on that another question a little different i was thinking of a new hu with 4-volt front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs now would i be able to plug a sub staright into the hu or would i still need an amp to run the sub

You will still need the amp, try and get it so that either the HU has a dedicated sub output or make sure the amp has adjustable frequency response.
