In this day and age the rear LED lights should have been standard! interesting twin tail pipes on a TSi?

But China superb, don't have DRL on the front, so you don't have any problem.....

Yes! I have to admit. And my rear-view mirror can not be electric folding, the other day, it has been broken off by someone I don't know.

where did u get the lights from, off internet or at your local dealer and how much were they

cheers for that, reading your sig you have a 2.0tdi 140cr elegance. how do u find the ride and what sort of mpg u getting. u had any problems since you bought the car

The ride is perfect for me. I came from a 2007 Octavia vRS -  a great car but just too hard with its sports suspension and 18's, I must be getting old!

I can still chuck the Superb round the same corners at the same speed as the vRS with loads of grip and plenty of confidence. Obviously more body roll but at UK's speed limits the Superb is all I'll ever need.

Touch wood no faults at all. I bought it with 14,000 miles on, I've now done just over 3,000 miles in a few months and all is well.

7 tanks of diesel, these are my MPG figures, manually calculated, the on-board computer lies.

A 150 mile daily commute at steady speeds between 50mph and 80mph...

55.98

53.60

53.91

52.71

53.34

53.26

52.41

So currently averaging 53.60 MPG.

If the car can't be coded to work with the LED tail lights (byte 18) then resistors will be my last resort.

The only problem is that they get very hot so you need to be careful where you place them.

But may i know what or how many is required to made it work?

Is there any calculations or try an error?

Cheers for the info thats not too bad on such a big car

I was really chuffed with the handling on mine too, coming from a vRS it's a little softer but still firm, and corners with so much grip, in mine and another 170 tdi I've driven. Very impressed so far.

I think the LED lamps are on my wish list, I thought because they came on the L&K that it would of been an easy fix on the computer?

The problem is that to code the lights you need to adjust byte 18 in the central electronics, and no one I know has successfully managed it on the Superb using VCDS.

Once we know the correct two digit HEX code it takes no time at all to change it, the problem is you need to be 100% sure that the code is correct as the original code is hidden, so if the new code doesn't work (and turns off the DRL's for example, as detailed earlier in this thread) you won't know what the original code was to put things back to how it was!

My local dealer is talking to 'Skoda Technical Support' in Milton Keynes using the VAG DIS Reporting System to understand if they can get the correct coding, which if they can they have then agreed to use on my car - for a fee of course. The problem is they are unlikely to reveal it to me so I won't be able to share it if it works.

As a plan B we need a member with VCDS to scan their Superb and ask Ross-Tech for their help...

They do look really smart. :)

Will getting the auto scan from the china superb help?

It would be interesting to see a scan of a Chinese Superb.

Although I do not think it will help me here in Europe as a member has already mentioned that the coding he used from a Chinese Superb disabled his DRL's (Daytime Running Lights).

Does the Superb in China come fitted with DRL's?

No as the Byte 18 will just show 00, which is masking the true code.

Will try to hunt it out.....

But are you planning to use translator to read them?

If you are, it will be tough to understand what they are talking....

I'll try my best, thanks anyway.

Hi, I just retrofitted the LED tail lights from Superb Facelift 2014 to my S2 Combi:

It's not just plug & play - need to rewire the fog lights, but works as follow:

How did you clear the blown-bulb warning light on the dashboard?

Welcome to Briskoda by the way B)

The lucky number of the coding of the byte 18 is 05 [HEX]

I retrofitted the newest bordnetz (1K0 937 087 AN) as well.

Thanks for the info.

I'm guessing the byte 18 HEX code may be different for my Superb with it being a twindoor rather than a combi.

Also, does your Superb have factory-fit xenon headlights, I think this may also influence the HEX code too.

Does your Superb have DRL's? I think these were introduced on the Superb prior to the launch of the combi so I'm guessing you do have them fitted. Do they still work after the new coding?

What was the reason for fitting a new bordnetz? Was this required in addition to the coding to clear the blown-bulb warning light?
