thank you so much mike for your advice, i started following your advice , i called a service center supposed to be working with the dealer , i will pay for them to accept my car , but of course no warranty only they accept to make services with money, but i am having a problem that have to wait for about 10 days , as they are fully loaded now.

so i am thinking of just letting the friend with vag-com to adjust the xenon light following the instructions by putting the xenon on basic settings using vag-com then using the manual adj screws we lower it a little as i am really suffering while driving at night , my xenon is almost illuminating the trees not the street

then after 10 days i will go to the service center to check for me the leveling and dynamic angle control, and the cornering of the fog.

by the way i dont let this friend do the job to save money , i pay for him , and pay alot, the only reason was that he is the only one accepting to work in my car.

or just sell the car before you make it unusable.

Harsh, but fair :)

I thought I heard something drop a while back, must have been mistaken...

Was it a penny do you think?

You car will still be under factory warranty regardless of where you got it, call skoda for assistance in getting the dealer near you to sort it for free

Don't think they have Skoda Assistance in Egypt. :P

Good advice about contacting another VAG outlet.

Perhaps if Mohamed contacted Skoda factory in Czech Republic they may be able to assist him with his dealer network issue? Especially if a friend was interested in buying a Skoda, but not with the support levels offered so far.

i tried contacting the dealer of VW and Audi here in egypt , they refused to accept working in the car as we are supposed to have a skoda dealer here in egypt .

i will try contacting SKoda in Czech Republic and see what they may do

just sent an email to skoda, and am waiting for the reply

Your friends also needs the latest version of VCDS to work properly with a FL Octavia.

i told him that a new version is released today, he downloaded it and he is using it now

I have doubts about any type of consumer protection in 3rd world countries like Egypt. Survival of the fittest/most aggressive I'd think.

The importers sound like a very honest bunch of folk:rolleyes:.

Seems odd that VW won't touch the car. The Skoda network in Australia is very small (coastal areas only) and I was assured that VW would take over Skoda problems where a Skoda dealer wasn't convenient. So far that hasn't quite worked - I asked the local Audi dealership if they could do my 30,000km service & while they were keen, they couldn't scan the ECU or get access to any firmware updates.

what i was afraid of was right, they dont know how to adjust the xenon headlamp, i called the service center today to ask them about the procedure of adjusting the xenon headlamp , they dont know anything about putting the xenon in basic settings using vag-com !!!!!!!! , all what they are going to do is adjusting the headlamp with the screws only , i am quiet sure that they know nothing about the 2 sensors responsible for the automatic adjustment !!!!!!!1

and of course till now no reply from skoda Czech Republic

What about the procedure for setting them with VAS? Dealers won't be using VAG-COM.

i dont know steve , but the engineer i was talking to didnt mention anything about computer adjustment , all what he said was about the screws

anyway i will call him again sunday, they are off friday and saturday

Manual adjustment is part of the procedure. But if I recall, the lights need to be put into 'setup' mode, so adjustments can be made to the levelling, if necessary.

Steve

you take it into dealer and ask them to do a xenon headlight calibration with VAS its on their machine under the xenon option iirc.
