VRS Seat clean

Featured Replies

Hey! I feel like giving my seats a clean, can any recommend a suitable product? There is no heavy soiling, just general wear...I specifically want to clean the Silver mesh parts. My seats are heated, should I take any precautions?

Thanks!

Use a small amount of vanish stain remover or similar stuff in some warm water and sponge it on very sparingly (if you put on too much it dries in patches and leaves water rings), then dry it thoroughly, I imagine if you don't soak the seats in it then you could use the heated seat function to make sure it dries evenly.

heated seat function an option I hope as mine hasn't got them

Hire a rug docotor ....Job done .....and the mrs will love the clean carpets in the house as well

HTH

Bucket of warm water, one capful of flash, sponge. I found this the best way to clean the mesh seats on my old VRS.

thought we all came to the agreement shout is the best for the seats just spray on and wipe over with a damp cloth job done

mine come up mint every week and i have a dog with a puddle fetish, lol

Hello,

Hire a rug doctor machine - excellent results. Its hard work but worth it. I took 2 days :eek: cleaning mine and they have come up fantastic.

Tried all sorts of other stuff (vanish, soda crystals, autoglym, etc) and nothing came close, The rug doctor machine actually removes the ingrained dirt from the seats.

You will also need to use the rug doctor upholstery cleaner / carpet shampoo. Hire was£29 for 48 hours plus the cost of the cleaners / shampoo which were between £5 and £10 each.

Now its a case of all sweets etc being banned from the car!!! :D:D:D

Cheers,

Darren

my daughter wee'd in her car seat and it went through to the silver mesh, i washed it with warm water and dried it but it has left a large water mark on the seat, any ideas on how to clean this properly please?

miss spelling

I use 1001 fabric cleaner from wilko's. The key to not leaving water marks, Is to apply a minimal amount fabric cleaner mixed with the right ratio of warm water without saturating the fabric then foam It up with a soft brush. A foam applicator for the trigger spay does a good job of putting It on:thumbup:

If you have got access to a wet vax then use that for sucking any excess water/cleaner out of the fabric & speed up the drying process.

thanks oggy i will give this a go at the weekend and let you know how i get on.
