Sh!t "Xenons" (Can't really see em in teh daylight):

Aero Wipers (Probably the most practical mod I've done to the car imo, not only do they look a lot better but they actually work unlike my old ones!):

Painted rear drums black:

What / where do the wipers come from ? My VRS ones lift too easy...

I thought all the 1.4 16v Fabias had rear disc brakes?

Probably just the 100BHP versions

looks good tom, u need to to the front calipers now

De-Tango your indicators. Either Philips Silver Vision or Osram Diadems. I think the Diadems will look better on yours because it has a blue tinge when off.

With those alloys I think painted callipers and drums will look good. I was thinking in red not plain black.

Get some vRS alloys and it will look awesome.

Nah I don't like vRS alloys, I'm getting some rubber for my newly refurbed mini comps today ;)

Ok new plan lol. Just phoned up the insurance now and they said they wouldn't insure me with 16" alloys, or lowering springs. So, car's going back to standard as of today :(

sh!t

Can't you change company? Call round a few mod friendly places?

How big is the hit to get out of your current policy and how long is left to run?

:(

Well when I've got quotes online and said I've had the car lowered not one insurance company would insure me, and the cheapest quote I've had without the car lowered but with 16" alloys is £1222 third party. I've paid over £700 in my dads name for the existing (it was £600 but he crashed the car which affected his NCB), and they'll give me £500 back if I terminate the insurance at the beginning of October. So yea I've decided now to keep the existing policy (mainly coz I cba to faff about with changing insurance) and put the car back to standard, it's my cheapest option by far.

You gunna finish the bumpers, keep the tints & induction kit?

Yea I'm still gonna get the bumpers done, I asked about the tints as well and they said that as long as I can prove they're legal then they're fine. Induction kit I will keep on, if I unfortunately did crash, then the airbox is quick and simple enough to put back in, and there is a plug for the backbox which reduces the bore to the standard size so I can slap that in and shouldn't have any problems. So all that's changing really is putting the standard alloys and springs back on.

It's a shame, but not the end of the world. At least you've got a decent set of alloys as OEM items!

Means you can get it looking super smooth, and then, one day.. slam it again and it'll be all complete! :D

Yepyep, that's now the new plan! :P

Agree with the above post about doing the indocators. First thing we did on both our vRS's... Also went for the shorter aerials but went for the Honda one's off the CTR. Great reception and actually better than the standard length OEM aerial. Even surprised the local dealers when we had a fault on the radio once and we managed to pick up Lincs FM in North Sheffield!!!! None of the other cars at the dealers could pick it up. ;)

Cheers

Dave.

this is the problm with most mainstreem insurance companys, but honestly mate if they won't insure the bits you should remove them.

I was hit by a teenager in a corsa that was trying to cut in and out of traffic, he pulled in behind me and i braked as the traffic was and he hit me. First thing he said to the insurance company was that my car was moddified, they checked my policy and found i was coverd, he was trying to say it was my fault, when they recoverd his car it was taken to be fixed, they inspected it and found it was modified (wheels, exhaust, and induction kit) they voided his insurance. My insurance then used my legal cover and i took him to court for injury claims, and my insurance took him to court for damage costs to the car. the police then also went after him and procicuted him for driveing without insurance.

Just be carefull mate and never think it will never happen to you.
