Green Caliper Paint May Be Available from Skoda !

Featured Replies

Just spoken with Skoda over the lack of avilability of the green caliper paint.

I asked why the green caliper paint was not available from the dealer and whether it was an item that could be sourced by Skoda UK ?

I also told Skoda that my local dealer had informed me that if they have any paint defects with any green calipers, they replace the whole caliper ! The guy was very suprised to hear this and i further commented that by making the paint available they would not only make a profit selling it, but save ££££ in labour and caliper costs for caliper replacement. He said i had a very good point !

Skoda Customer Care said:

"I will log this request under the title 'Caliper paint' and if we get many other enquiries then we will most likely get something sorted so that it will be available for sale.

SO:

EVERYONE WITH A VRS (green Calipers) CALL SKODA ON: 08457 745 745

and log the request to have this green - heat resistant paint made available.

Doubtless Hammerite Smooth Green will still be cheaper... ;)

Cheaper but not EXACTLY the right colour and NOT heat resistant as some people on here will testify.

Mine are fine 10k down the line, and I defy you to be able to tell the difference in colour if once they're on the car...

Sorry dude but the Hammerite is as near as damn it spot on, At worst 2 shades out.

And whilst it's still available it'll be 1/5 the price charged if Skoda ever release it!

While we're on the subject would it not make more sense going straight to the caliper manufacturers!

ATE

ATE

Not that it really matters... but ATE only make the front calipers, the rears are made by TRW (used to be Lucas)

I guess this is the 'Minz Green' in colour

I feel a thread merge coming on - although the contrast in outlook between this thread and the other one is stark!

I posted it twice as 2 cars have green calipers and i wanted both Octavia and Fabia owners to benefit.

Never mind...

Worth a try

It's a lovely and noble idea, but it's never going to fly now Skoda fit the same red calipers as the other sporty VAGs. Milotec would appear to be your best bet, judging by the other thread...

Yes but they'll have the paint or powder to colour them, Or they may point you to whoever supplies it!

Working your back up the supply chain to source!
