Bora fog lights in front bumper grills, will they fit??

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if these will these fit a vRS bumper??

Front fog bumper grills

The standard front fogs are sh!te, so this would be quite a nice addition...providing it fitted! I might just get it and make them fit....now, where's my hammer..........

Your thoughts please people.

Thanks.

Steve:)

No idea if they'll fit but I think you're on the right track with the hammer, and gaffer tape hides a multitude of sins!

Steve,

Knowing vw they will be very similar but not the same, however that means with a bit of work they will fit so go for it, as you are right the standard fogs are not great.

Keep us posted, as at that price i would be tempted to try too!!!

Steve, I think the the VW ones are thinner and not as long as the VRS grills.

Don't look far off though, compared to these from Superskoda.

The standard front fogs are sh!te,

I'm curious to why you think that, besides how often you actually use them?

Very rarely use them, but as actual 'fog' lights they are very poor, mounted too high up IMO.

I thought that too, right up until I actually encountered real fog one November night (working on a hill top helps with commonness of fog).

On the original question, have you fitted an FMIC and an alternative routing for the engine air intake? The one lower vent feeds the engine, and the other contains that standard SMIC, and conventional fogs will part block the feeds for both.

I don't know about the TDi, but the nearside lower grille on the vRS doesn't act to supply air to the filter box. It's completely blocked, apart from one tiny hole for the external air tempertaure sensor behind the grille. The intake pipe for the airbox sits behind the arch liner, in the top of the wheel arch. So that shouldn't be a problem.

I think Steve's got an FMIC also, so it's all clear on that side too.

I don't think the standard fogs are that bad to be honest. I've got Philips Bluevision bulbs in mine and they do a pretty good job. Just fit a radar for fog driving!
