Just had my Furby serviced, and they lent me an Octy!

Featured Replies

Took mine in yeserday, and they lent me an Octy 1.9 Tdi..130bhp.

It was the first proper taste of an Octavia that I've had, and I must say I was very impressed. Nearly as quick as the Fabia in normal 130 mode, but the best thing was the way it felt so nimble..unlike our C5 that feels very stodgy in comparison. Suspension thing I suspect.

Bags of room for all my clobber too, and the fuel consumption for a medium sized car  48!! Fantastic!

So just another 10 months to go,and a 2nd hand Octy is currently top of the list for the replacement family hack. Trouble is that means Mrs C.J will be using the Fabia as her run around!

Just a little edit..how does everyone get on with seat comfort? Had an Audi 80 Tdi on an M plate 6yrs ago, and Mrs C.J. constantly moaned about how the seat made her dodgy back ache badly, and Mini Moose compained of feeling car sick all the time?

I find the seats great for my back - has it got the lumbar adjusters though????

Have to admit that is the exact car I was thinking about for our 'project'.

I've done some *very* long drives in my octy with no noticable problems

Octy is way more comfy for me at the moment that the furby.

Just about cope with the 14 mile trip to work.

I'm on my second Octy TDi, first was a 110, got the 130 Elegance and it is perfect for me. I'm surprised to hear you say it is almost as fast as your Fabia though CJ!

Dave.

Seat comfort - have been much more comfortable in the Octavia than I was in a new Audi A4 with sports seats. No wriggling due to uncomfortable 'middle back' with the Octavia

Perhaps it's got one of the 'magic boxes' on it..must ask them tomorrow when I pop in for some parts that need ordering for the Furby.

Really though, I was very suprised how sprightly it was!

Nice to hear the comments about seat comfort. Wonder if the Audi was made with large bottoms in mind! ;)

Good lad, C.J., Good Lad............

Have to say, it usually works in reverse for me.............take in the Octy, get given a 1.2, 1.4 petrol or 1.4 TDI Furby instead..........HARRUMPH!!

Though the 1.4 TDI was 3 cylinder PD unit and was astonishingyl fast.....

Back ache..........ahh yes....

I find the Octavia's seats much better than, oh, let's see......

The VW Passat sitting outside........The seats in that, while as adjustable as the Octy, are far too soft, and I find my loew back, butt and legs going numb after just over 90 minutes in that. The Octy however has done Cambridge and back, Milton Keynes and back, Carlisle and Back, without so much as a twitch..(round trips are seperate, not all on one day! :P )

Might even haul up to Edinburgh in it yet (if Virgin don't release the cheap tickets soon  )

was it the new shape Octy they lent you?
