Ok- here is my issue

I have had my heart set on geting a Fabia Vrs next year for about a year or so- I even have the dream vison of what i want it to look like when i have completed the mods etc (just something i have to do)

Now the issue- I'm starting to think should i go for the fabia.

I keep wondering should i go for something else- mk1 octy vrs? A 730D Sport?

I know some people may think this is crazy but i just keep wondering.

Any one got any thoughts?

My main wants are something cool, quick, quirky, handles reasonable well, not issues if it can't be modded and I'm not to bothered by fuel type.

Anyone else got any ideas or should i stick with what i have ben aiming for the past year?

- Why would you be having second thoughts after so much planning?

- How much would it play on your mind if you didn't? :)

Urm not sure why i am now- And you have no idea how much planning i have done for this car

I don't think i would be to botherd but i'm not sure.

ScottyVrsless get the Fabia vRS

I've always found that if you invest so much in something emotionally and then don't go for it, it's like an itch that you can never quite scratch. If it's taken up so much of your last year you should probably go for it and then deal with it later if you change your mind :)

I had a Fabia TDi for 5 years and always told myself I would own an Octy vRS one day. I would see them on the road and get butterflies - I wanted one so much LOL :o. Like you, my eye started to wander every now and again to other nice cars, but my loyalty was always with Skoda and the Octy vRS in particular.

Well.. split from the wife and decided to go for it. I just had a promotion at work and thought it would be the ideal present for myself!

I bought my Race Blue 2.0 FSI and I was as impressed as I always thought I would be. Life couldn't be better, I am so glad I went with the Octy; I just know that if I had bought anything else, I would always wonder what it would have been like..Scotty, my sincere advice would be to buy the Fabia, you will not be disappointed, I'm sure...there's plenty of peeps here that would agree!!

You may not be as sad as me, but to own such a car gives you a little wry smile - especially when they are so understated ;)

Hmmm...You'll have to ask a site admin to edit your username when you get it, which I hope you do!!

Regards

Rich

Well I've over come the darkside:jedi:

Ive fought off the uncertainties:fence3d:

For a while the evil did rise up:tempted:

But cheers to ya all for making me see sense.

You've all bashed my head- in not so many ways:smashfrea

The Fabia will arrive next year- and then let the mods start again:thumbup:;)

Haha, but what did you expect from a Skoda site!

Glad to hear it's on its way, enjoy!

Depends how much mileage you do tbh and insurance.

I would happily swap my Fabia VRS in tomorrow for an Octy VRS MK1 but I do 40 miles a day commute and being 21 insurance would rape me hard (Fabia is £850 12 month policy)

Ditto here joel- i do about 40/50 miles a day to and from work.

But insurance isn't to bad on stuff eve if i have a bayroot style postcode but i will be 25 and have 4yrs ncd

Glad you are making the right choice :)

If you need any more convincing then come over to Leeds and I'll take you for a spin in the skip to show you what a Fabia can really do.

Roll- The skip and the mongrel were the reasons i first wanted a fabia vrs

Thats all very well, and they are great cars, but dont buy a Fabia vrs expecting it to turn into them with just a remap, getting to 200bhp+ is an expensive process, you're talking 3k+ to do it properly really.

Joel- long term spends for that i am projecting about 6-7k after the car its self

dont waste your money mate

312s, rarb, bushes and a mild remap, possibly a suspension kit, sorted.

Stick the rest into a savings account.

I can see the point of that joel- i may yet do that as im still waying up the full options. I wouldn't mind the power.

We'll see how i get on with it as standardish. the only concern is once ya start these things you kinda don't stop really do you. You just change the car your doing it to.

in good time we shall see- but as per my other post in the fabia 1 section i think it is a defo given what will happen first off.
