Anyone had this fitted, got any comments on it?

Had it fitted to my motorbike, it stops paint scuffs & chips.

My bike has it on the tank, headlight, front fairing & tail piece.

It needs extremely careful fitting & air bubbles get easily trapped under it, but the majority, if not all soon dissipate, leaving a tough finish.

The one thing that irritates me is I tapped the tail section with my boot when I put my leg over & it left an indelible mark on the VentureShield, but that's better than damaged paintwork.

The thing with it is that you can see where it's fitted, the lines/edge of the shield, so it's up to you if you can live with it then by all means have it fitted, but it's not cheap & it's an expensive mistake if you don't like it.

Yes, this is what I was thinking about. I think I could live with it on the lower half of the car , cos you don't look at it so often. The bonnet, well, you can be more critical with it so maybe I might just go for the grill, bumper, lights and behind the wheels. What do you think?

I think you need to see a vehicle fitted with it before you make a decision to have it fitted.

Once it's on, it's on, you can't change your mind.

Yes, you can replace a panel of it if it gets damaged.

I've looked it up & you'd need 3 sets, "Hood", "Lamps" & "Options" packages, you can expect to pay around £30-50 per set + fitting & VAT.

I've seen a car with it doen as a colleaughue at work recommended it to me. The price seems to be nearly £300 just for the front of the car (including fitting) though.

When I looked at his car (which is black) I could not see where the edge was although it was in an underground car park not in bright sunshine. He did say that when you polish it it leaves a white line at the edge where polish builds up and you have to ensure that that it is wiped off to remove it.

I'm not sure thqat I can justify paying that amount although I might buy a small sheet of it to protect the door sills as I'm sure I'll be able to cut and fit them myself and the sills do tend to get scuffed. I think it's around £35 for a piece large enough to do it and may even be enough to do the top of the rear bumper.

Hello,i have this on my octy,i think mine is armourGuard or something. It cost me around £250,thats for the front of the car, bonnet, bumper, wings, lights inc fogs, wing mirrors and the top edge of the rear bumper. To be honest there is a line on the car that i clean with a very soft toothbrush just to get the white line of wax out. In all iam glad i have it,its way better than having chipped paint in my view and there are a few "dinks" low down in it that iam sure would be a chip/dent if it wasnt there. Hope that helps.

thanks for the info, the only thing that bothers me is the film they put on the bonnet. They don't cover the whole bonnet, so does the film show all the time, or only when the sun is low? Again, like you,. I'd rather have a line of wax to clean then pits and chips in the paint. I might not bother with the hood kit.

The hood kit is the bonnet one, this is a Yankee product!

Yeah mine covers the first say 20 inchs of the bonnet. It does show as it does tend to trap a little line of dirt, when its clean it blends in pretty well, but like i said SO much better than chips!
