Amazing what abit of elbow grease and tcut can do.

That's looking great mate!

My spoiler is like yours.. and it always comes up ok with a wax but then fades again by the next time I clean it (That said, I seem to be cleaning my car quarterly atm).

What did you use, and would you mind keeping an eye on it for say a month and reporting back?

Thanks

Rob.

good result that

i'm guessing this happens to most vrss as the two i have been for a test drive in have really faided spoilers (one yellow one red)

yea, quite common apparently.

Stuff i used was safe cut or safety cut, just like T-Cut. Does the same. Had to apply a fair bit of pressure when applying it and went over it 2/3 times. Well worth it though!

This is good to know!

i'd kind of resigned myself to the fact that the plastic spoiler would fade faster than the paint and look poo forever more.

Might have to give it a going over when i have the time/motivation

make sure you get a hard wax on it to protect it

the lacquer failed on mine and let water in, its been sprayed now but its happened to a few on here

As Ultra says, get a sealant and/or wax on it ASAP. At the moment you have taken a layer of the lacquer (top coat) off to reveal the nice paint underneath, but you will need to protect it to stop the oxidation happening again :)

Thanks for posting your efforts and pics, you provided the motivation for me to finally attack mine! Half an hour of Autoglym Paint Restorer later (I feared I was going too hard at it as the bottle said to try SRP first but what the heck) and it's shiny and nearly new :)

The lacquer has properly failed on mine, on the creases of the centre cutout. You only notice if you're looking though, and it can't do any damage.
