New VRS DSG standard spec

Featured Replies

1. I've read on here that if you have a MFSW you get the maxidot included, is this correct

In the latest brochure the spec for the wheel mentions radio controls and DSG paddle shift but no mention of Maxidot

2. Also do rear mudflaps come as standard

3. If you order Auto dim mirror, does it come with auto lights as well

If you want Maxidot on a vRS you have two options.

1. Just have the Maxidot which is £125 (factory fit option)

2. Have Bluetooth® and telephone function for multi-function steering wheel and Maxi-dot

for £480 (factory fit option).

Be aware that not all Bluetooth enabled mobiles will work with the Skoda Bluetooth system.

Mudflaps are an optional extra at approx. £20 per pair

The Auto dimming mirror comes with the Light Assistant, so Yes.

go online and configure a basic, vrs dsg and then see what the spec sheet says online, for cr dsg it says on a standard car it has MFSW and Maxidot as standard... i can tell you for sure at the weekend if this is correct as i collect mine saturday. I'll argue with them if the spec is different.....

I spoke to Skoda about this. Maxidot is NOT standard on the vRS, you get a MFSW with the DSG. But you get the phone function when you purchase the BT package which comes with the maxidot.

I would'nt trust the website, its very wrong on most of the specs.

I see what you mean on the configurator.

So ordering as an 'extra' is a waste of money

It will be interesting to see what comes on your car if you did not order it as an option

If you ordered a vRS without specing maxi as an option, it will come with the "plain" trip computer. You will have paddle shift with the phone button, but this will not work. :(

Well i guess i'll find out soon enough, will cause a stink tho, it would be bad show on their part...

Did you not get in writing your spec? You can't order off the website so it would go via a dealer so that the spec is checked. maxidot is not something they'd just add if you did'nt spec it.

got a feeling i'm going to have a fight on my hands...

i only have an order form with the metallic paint added. if it is an issue it is more with skoda uk not the dealers. the dealer was aware i had been using their site to check the spec and did not mention at the time any issues with the sites information.

I f you are collecting Saturday, surely the car must be at the dealers. Can you not go down there or get them to check for Maxidot

unfortunately I've no time to go down there, and couldn't imagine delaying collection if it is incorrect, so i'll just wait and see..... In prep for the bad news i have drafted a letter already to forward my complaint i have a feeling some of the comments put forward regarding spec are probably right.....

I think you will, to quote from the website:

"Images, pricing and technical information is for information purposes only. Please confirm all specifications, options and pricing with your local retailer." :rotz:

Might be worth ringing them up and get them to check.

been down there today expecting to do a bit of ruffing the dealer up, after a poor nights sleep.... got away from work, got to the dealers and i couldn't find my car at first! i haven't opened the car up. but through the window it looks to be a maxidot display (one large display all black just like the ones on Youtube) not at all like the standard trip computer to be found in the other cars at the dealers. so unless they have changed their displays it will be maxidot. also had nice new mats inside one thing I reckoned would not be there..

Can Definitely confirm at the weekend. looks promising tho!

I believe they've changed the display in the new FL models. I don't have my car yet, but I've been shown a maxidot and a non-maxidot trip computer at the dealers and they are very similar to look at - you certainly won't tell the difference unless turned on. The new FL non-maxidot trip computer is now full size, but just displays a bit less info and doesn't have the menu options to change settings, etc.

mmm no clearer then....... anyone got non maxidot display pics?

There are some rather crappy illustrations in the new updated manual (links to download in sticky thread at top of forum).

Fantastic!!! MAXIDOT is fitted, on consultation with the salesman Sunil Hira (top bloke if sometimes a little slow to act) he did inform me that all cars with a MFSW come with maxidot as standard, so that would mean all dsg's (well certainly VRS's) hope this helps yall.

Oh and the car is fan flippin tastic !!!!

Odd as that's not what my dealer or Skoda told me! Unless ur thinking of the MFSW with BT and radio controls. Skoda told me the Maxidot is NOT standard on DSG vRS which is why its listed as an option. Has he actually checked the car? Did you order BT?

No BT ordered, the wheel has all the buttons, no use of the telephone one due to no BT. sorry, dealer checked the checked the car, i dont understand what you mean... it was confusing as to whether it would or wouldn't come as standard to me anyway...

Yes I was confused as I did'nt know if it came with the BT system and MFSW. Skoda told me its not standard and an option. Which is why I'm surprised it came with it.

be interesting to see if my car was a one off, but i'd be surprised if they had made an error. will have to see if anyone elses standard order DSG cars come with maxidot.

yep, anyway glad ur pleased with it!

  • 4 weeks later...

Hey guys - anyone tell me if they had problems with dealers trying to charge for the MFSW on a VRS DSG ? I've had 3 dealers now all tell me it's an extra (£300-£400 !!!), although the brochure clearly shows it as fitted on the DSG model. Also - does the VRS have foling mirrors - says so on Skoda.cz, but not mentioned in the UK brochures...

It'd be great if a recent owner could let me know ....

cheers.
