New VRS DSG standard spec

Featured Replies

I spotted that as well...along with Xenon lights as standard on the VRS. I spoke to the salesman I'd just ordered mine from & he thinks it's going to be standard on VRS's after the VAT off offer ends at the end of the month. However, he assures me that if the Xenons are standard I'll get the £600 I paid for them back...er...can't really see that happening!

The FL vRS brochure / spec on the Cz web site is different in several ways; for example the 18" wheels are options there, where in UK they are standard. Anthracite was always available but not in uk until they shifted all the LE models. The quote from Skoda Cz was

"Each Skoda importer decides on his own what cars, equipment and technical features will be offered in his country.

Please contact importer in UK with your question."

So the Cz brochure is not much use to us in UK; Skoda UK decide what they will allow and when. As for Maxidot, I was told you only got it as standard with the Bluetooth option abd only on DSG. Its seen as necessary if you're going to get all your texts / phonebook etc on the small screen.

Hey guys - anyone tell me if they had problems with dealers trying to charge for the MFSW on a VRS DSG ? I've had 3 dealers now all tell me it's an extra (£300-£400 !!!), although the brochure clearly shows it as fitted on the DSG model. Also - does the VRS have foling mirrors - says so on Skoda.cz, but not mentioned in the UK brochures...

It'd be great if a recent owner could let me know ....

cheers.

The 3-spoke MFSW comes as standard with DSG Vrs but without Maxidot. It is not possible to order electric folding mirrors on the Vrs. Apparently something to do with the UK spec having a different wiring loom! HTH

Correct, you need Bluetooth, only then does it come with Maxidot, unless you order, well, Maxidot.

I'm confused now!!

So..DOES the DSG vRS come with Maxidot as standard or not?

No.

+1 for me, Maxidot is NOT standard on vRS.

  • 3 weeks later...

Ordered a VRS with DSG with out the bluetooth (you get the volume etc as standard) and it does come with the Maxidot as standard.

The current brochure says it is standard on L&K but not vRS - but then the brochure may be wrong.

HI Guys

I ordered the Maxidot and paid for it as part of the DSG as i thought it was extra, however the dealer told me 2 weeks later that it was now standard and refunded me the money from my order. Car will be built in Jan 10 so not sure if this is a new thing or not. There are alot of things that are unclear on the new vrs in the brochures etc such as you now get the TSI engine and not the TFSI etc. The dealers are also very unsure of the specs etc.

Cars that are now build (as from week 45) will also have an oiltemp indication in the maxidot! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

That's correct, when I ordered my Vrs DSG in October the dealer couldn't specify Maxidot as an option when placing the order.

It looks like Maxidot was made standard at some point on the Vrs DSG but this wasn't reflected in the brochure.

Found out my car was built on monday, I'm really looking forward to picking it up in 3-4 weeks :)

So...My vRS CR DSG is due to be built in January and WILL have Maxidot as standard?

Are Xenons standard too?

I have asked my dealer,. They dont know

No xenons are extra in just about every car these days. But the good news is you will have Maxi dot with your dsg along with the radio controls on the wheel but bluetooth is extra if you want that on the wheel.

Cheers Mike...Good job I didn’t pay for it...

Could this be a way for Skoda to charge more??

Or am I being cynical? :dull:

No its just that Skoda is not so good at keeping the dealers up to date on spec changes (or the dealers are no good at knowing) there is a lot of confusion on when the xds came in on the face lift and when the TSI engine took over from the TFSI and the maxidot is another example.

It seems to be a VAG group thing as i have a mk6 GTI also, and the tyre pressure monitor button which was down by the gear stick on the mk5 but was missing on the mk6. However the manual for the mk6 says it is by the gear box and even shows a pic of it there. Lots of calls later to VW UK and the dealer it turns out they have now put it in the glove box?? Most VW dealers still dont know of this change.

Speced maxidot on my vrs and paid for it but 2 wks later the dealer refunded me on the order as it is now standard with the dsg. Lots of dealers also trying to charge people for mfsw but it is standard on the dsg just not the bluetooth part. Lots of confusion on this one.
