What is that dots on the coil spring?

Featured Replies

Is that a colour code for the hardness of the coil spring?

And what colour is yours? :)

Mine shows one red and four yellow (both left and right coil struts).

I Google' d the query without finding anything specifically Skoda. There is a Land Rover forum that notes the coding they use is connected with coil strength and usage. If you are interested land rover spring specifications

No pictures as I was up at a mates farm recently and haven't cleaned the car since!!

I am now curious as to why our two are different. Mine is the Roomster 2 with the 1.9 maybe it has something to do with the model...

The diesel is a far heavier engine than the 1.4 petrol, so your springs need to be a lot stronger than the OPs.

I've seen also an 1.4 80 TDI with one red and four yellow dots...

I've the feeling diesel Roomsters' suspension is harder while driving the TDI, whereas my petroleum Roomster is softer on the same speed bump we have tested.

And this pic is from 1.2 70bhp Roomster
