Interior Trim Door Panel

Featured Replies

Having looked on this forum I noticed that a number of posters had had a problem with the interior trim of their drivers door "bubbling" up. Some of whom had had their interior trim panels replaced under warranty.

So I approached my dealer who in turn contacted the warranty department. To my suprise this issue was deemed wear and tear!!!!

The car had covered approx 35k in 18months when I took it in to the dealer although the problem had appeared earlier, but as it was not a mechanical issue which affected the car and running I was in no rush to take it in.

I then approached Skoda customer (not) service who contacted the dealer and warranty department (the same two people who had claimed it was wear and tear) only for Skoda to come back to me and advise me it was wear and tear.

Now I do not have an exceptionally heavy elbow and over the 13years or so I have been driving I have driven Vauxhalls, Citroens, Fords, Volkswagen (including a new passat that I covered 45k in 12mths), Peugeots probably covering 300,000 miles or so. During this time I have never come across this "wear and tear" issue.

Can anyone on here advise me if I have any other routes to try and resolve this issue?? and if so what are they??

I got my trim panel replaced with no problems at 18,000 miles . I just took it into the dealer and he said it was a common problem usually with taxi drivers . He ordered the part and fitted it two days later with no problems . I think some dealers are better at getting warranty issues sorted than others x

This has happened to my car but it's an ex Police car with 80,000 miles so I doubt I'd get a new one under warranty!
